Oh good. This must be to make way for Martin Guerre. I would be dumbfounded if they put Martin Guerre in Drury Lane. It’s Schoenberg’s best score but it’s got a tumultuous history to say the least. Do we know they’ve finished whatever version of rewrites they’re working on? |

I love the show and know it is flawed, but even if it does get a fifth (?) life, I don't see it playing to more than 1000 people per night. In terms of the rewrites, last I'd heard was the common knowledge info that it was being workshopped at the OV with a view to a possible run this year. People on here with their finger on the pulse will surely know if/when MG will eventually return. |

I could do without another west end musical where we all laugh at the camp limp wristed gay guy. Until representation improves I don't really want The Producers back personally.
Frozen has done incredibly well really. I'm sure it will tour eventually, probably after Aladdin has finished its tour and a suitable set from the US or Australia is available.
I'd love ther hercules rumour to be true. It has great potential as a stage musical

It was the intended theatre for a Broadway transfer of the original (which obviously never happened) and would be ideal for a show that size....and keep Disney on the property. |

If it´s the awful new Schele Williams-directed Aida, it won´t last for a month! According to a recent post, the show is being re-hauled after the recent, disastrous Netherlands production. Looks like the creative team know the changes were a misfire so lets hope they harken back to the original which was flawed but highly entertaining. |

Interesting take. Thanks  …and I don’t so much mean the Nazi stuff. I mean more the role of the women in the show, and the prehistoric Dick Emery style gay stereotypes. Painful. Was truly painful sitting through the most recent tour. The Nazi stuff was funny enough in context (though even that's outdated "teehee, Nazis silly") but it hardly opened doors for women or queer rep, let's put it that way... |

What rumours have you heard - potential of this coming to London? I’d love to see it done well - needs big sets and effects though which the German production seems to be aiming for (also being directed by Casey Nicholaw who also directed Aladdin). The sequel is being released in the autumn so I suppose it's not such a stupid idea. But drury Lane still seems a bit ambitious for beetlejuice.

‘Witches of Eastwick’ seemed a bit ambitious for TRDL and that ran for (a)month(s). Folks love to throw money down big holes to have their names on them. Don’t rule BJ out. I’d heard the Dominion initially which is why I wouldn’t rule out another barn.

The restoration of Drury Lane has allowed it to have flexible staging so I'd love to see something go in that's either in-the-round or on a thrust stage. If the Oliver! rumour from Chichester is true, then maybe that could be a contender...or possibly even the Leeds Playhouse production seeing as it sounds like people would rather see that!
