'Lovers' is an odd word to use in relation to family pantomime and Fairytales.
As far as panto couples go it literally could be anyone.
beauty and the beast, sleeping beauty and prince, Robin hood and maid marion of the big titles they've not done.
In terms of panto though, Cinderella is arguably the biggest panto name. Maybe they're doing that again.

In seriousness, I was wondering if it could be a clue to the casting. Who are some famous performers who fell in love whilst doing a panto?

I agree, sounds like a couple will be starring.

"Greatest lovers in history" doesn't seem to suit any panto I know. I mean yes, all pantos generally have love interests, but that's not the angle they usually approach it from in the marketing.
Sounds like they could be going very off the wall and doing a panto parody of Romeo and Juliet.

I can't even think of a celeb couple who met or are known for doing panto. Even then 'lovers' cringes a lot of people out lol

It does sound like "Beauty and the Beast" except Richmond Theatre is already doing it and Crossroads tends not to do the same panto in the same region to the point Richmond had to change their panto from "Jack and the Beanstalk" to "Goldilocks and the 3 bears" in 2022 as the Palladium decided to do "Jack and the Beanstalk" as their annual panto If the Palladium panto is Beauty and the Beast then Richmond would probably have to change to Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.

It’s Robin Hood.
I’d also heard a few weeks back that Gary Wilmot has retired from panto and won’t be returning this year. Not sure if there’s any truth in that.

Robin and Marian being the couple in question I'm guess. The heart referring to the Heart of Sherwood Forest. I think you could get away with casting say Louis Gaunt as Robin Hood but have a name for the Sheriff. Julian as Little John would be inspired and maybe Nigel Havers as Friar Tuck.

Shame if Gary Wilmot has retired from panto. Wish Paul Zerdin would though, or at least get some new schtick.

"Greatest lovers in panto history" is an odd line to describe Robin Hood though. You'd usually lean more into the adventure side of it. I wouldn't say Robin Hood is primarily a love story.

Priority booking? Sign up now or miss out on those £175 seats.
Weird way to try to hype the show up when plot is so inconsequential at the Palladium panto.

This is such an odd advertising strategy.
Lovers in panto? Sign up and miss out on what?

Purple colour scheme with a heart doesn't say Robin Hood to me either. I wonder if The Palladium will always be a new title or if they'll end up cycling back round to earlier ones they've used like most venues.

I wonder who the guest star turn will be this year?
A fun name I'll throw in the fabulous Ms Waddingham she'd have a ball as a panto baddie and be a good name to get.
When I saw that it was said Gary Wilmot had retired from panto, I was thinking he cannot be that old but he is 70 next month. That certainly ages us who can remember him as a younger performer in his late 20's early 30's when he first became a household name.

If it is Hugh Jackman then it will probably sell out during the pre-sale.
