Absolutely loved this tonight. The part could have been written for Beverley Knight, she is perfect. Great cast all round!

Had a fabulous afternoon at Sister Act, lovely to see such a strong cast. Leslie Joseph was having a blast. If I had half her energy at that age…
I enjoyed Ruth Jones as mother superior but found it funny that she’s too good a singer for the songs written for a poor singer.
Really was great to have such an uplifting show back.
Had the worst audience though, I know it’s school holidays but the rustling, and getting up for the loo were at another level, and someone behind me ran out of food to rustle in the second act and snored through it instead.

Does anyone know who the understudies are for Mary Martin and Mary Theresa?
Also is Lori the only person who’s listed in the understudies list as a cover Mother Superior?

Lauren Hall is first cover Martin - she makes her debut tonight. Second cover Chloe Hopcroft Theresa - first cover Anne Smith, second Caroline Bateson

Chatted to Alan Menken today and he said they’re doing a new cast album for the show which is exciting! He’s happy the Broadway changes will finally be on an album!

Happy Bev´s vocals are getting preserved (not so much about Lizzie Bea´s opt-down in what´s supposed to be her big note in Raise your Voice), but I do think this is a show where the original cast album is unbeatable. Patina, the super tight ensemble of nuns, the large proper string section...

Saw this last night. Booked centre front row seats in a sale last year, after enjoying it in Eventim Apollo back in 2022 though being disappointed with seats up in the heavens, and just had to hear Beverley in this role again. It did not disappoint at all and felt a step up from the Apollo in 2022, possibly helped by not being in that barn. Thought Ruth Jones was great as Mother Superior and Beverley Knight was a class act as expected. Lizzie Bea went off after Act 1 and was replaced by Emma Ralson for Act 2, who knocked The Life I Never Led out the park. I've spotted on Instagram it was her West End debut in the role though I believe has covered it on the tour. A great fun night of theatre. I'll certainly be back before the cast change! Great to hear a full recording could be in the pipeline, though having seen this at the theatre it confirmed for me that the band on the Fabulous Baby track that has been released sounds a little off (can't think of the right word, but... karaoke backing track...). Maybe I need a better speaker Front row at Dominion seems to be reliably great. It did look like stalls rows B-D were flat or even slightly raked down.

I got very lucky on Saturday and won Rush for the matinee.
Had a great seat finally - and adored the show. Songs are great, it moves quickly and Beverley Knight is incredible.

I hope they put a bit more effort into it than the worse-than-karaoke backing track version of 'Fabulous, Baby.' I've also yet to meet anyone who thinks 'It's Good To Be A Nun' is better than 'How I Got The Calling.' However, it will be nice to have a recording of 'Haven't Got A Prayer.'

Can’t see any announcement but on the booking page on the website it now has Ruth Jones till 3rd August and Lee Mead in the cast schedule. Lemar also seems to have extended so I’m guessing Lee Mead is playing Eddie?

I’m a bit confused with the cast announcement. On Instagram Tricia Deighton and Anne Smith is still featured in the cast after June 10th but they’re not on the website? Are they leaving after 10th June or staying?
Also I’m hoping that after the cast announcement (I swear they have announce both casts on days when I’m thinking about it) they will be announcing a date for the cast recording soon.

Even having read the comments preparing me I still wasn't fully prepared. 😂 He seemed to relish hamming it up in WWRY last summer, looks like he's embraced the camp again here.
