This didn't exactly set the broadway box office alight, I'm not sure this would do that well here. Seems an unusual choice for a transfer.

Something akin to anything goes at the Barbican then take it on tour. If they can stunt cast as well, the role of Oswald is great for that. I'm guessing their west end plans were made quite recent if 2025 is their goal.

I imagine the London transfer is subject to theatre availability although Trafalgar's Olympia Theatre is planned for 2025 so perhaps ATG could make a deal with the former owners at Trafalgar to launch it there?

I saw this in NYC last month and it’s great fun, it’s one of those ones that I’m not sure would really sell but once people got in the door they’d love it. Barbican does seem a good fit for it if they have the wingspace for the train (or they could just downsize it). Kelly Agbowu would absolutely kill it as Sweet Sue and I think Alex Thomas-Smith would be a great choice for Jerry/Daphne.

Something to really look forward to. It’s a truly fabulous show. The landscape of the West End could look very different in two years time, who knows which theatres will even be available.

Yes please, I’d love to see this if it does indeed make it. The movie is an absolute classic.

Did Sugar! ever play a West End theatre? Because, it's from the same film and had more non-preview performances on Broadway than Some Like It Hot - Sugar had 505 performances (plus 14 previews) - Some Like It Hot should end with 483 performances (plus 43 previews). So, if you count previews, then Some Like It Hot wins 526 to 519.

They reverted to the movie title hoping to sell better but it clearly didn't work. So this would be the second Some Like It Hot musical in the West End

This show was brilliant so I would be delighted to see it come to London. Such a shame that it couldn’t find its audience in New York

A lot can happen before 2025, I wouldn't get excited just yet.

Pinch of salt I think.
Everything that posts closing notices announces transfers or tours at the same time - many never materialise.
If it did come though - I think limited run, Barbican or similar is a good call. Can't see this sustaining open ended West End....

I could see this in the Piccadilly - it says 2025 but doesn't say when. Could give Moulin Rouge another 15-18 months and then it can bugger off x

I can actually see this one happening though yes, some things announced never arrive. I am still greatly disappointed that JAGGED LITTLE PILL which was announced for November 2022 never happened. But many a show that didn't fare so well on Broadway subsequently opened in the West End to a fair degree of success and longevity....LEGALLY BLONDE, 9 TO 5, FROZEN and PRETTY WOMAN to name a handful....

I could see this doing well in London. NYC shows that have failed have often go on to success in London- and likewise hit NYC shows have failed miserably here. . Drowsy and Spring Awakening spring to mind

Does Some Like it Hot have to be at an ATG venue? ATG were one of the producers of DEH and that went to the Noel Coward.

Truth is that the Savoy is the most perfect venue for this- but will likely still have Mean Girls running in there
Or the Prince Edward- but again- MJ will be ensconced in there.

I could see it at the Adelphi, BTTF probably would have run its course by then.

I love this show so much. I’ve seen it 7x here and am really excited to see who they get for these roles in London.

I am far from convinced that MJ will stay for that long. Have you seen MJ ? Other than some clips on YouTube, no. But the Jackson brand is somewhat tarnished and UK audiences had Thriller Live as an option for a very long time. I remain unconvinced that MJ will capture the imagination of audiences. Yes, it has done well on Broadway but that is no guarantee.
