Gosh - three words spring to mind in no particular order - death milked to ! It’s pretty cheap to stage for a tour and the jukebox element easily brings in the Hen parties. That’s the only reason I can see why this is happening again.

Are these different venues from the last tour?

However, they do have to cast a couple of leading ladies who can " cut the mustard" on those songs though! Plus inevitably some eye candy ex soap star for the body guard Frank. I remember seeing Tristan Gemmill (currently in Corrie). His performance made Pinocchio look like a real boy!

December 2018 will be about 2 years since it was last seen in London so I can see why it’s touring again as the songs are well known so it gets in audiences. Could it come back to the West End?
Ideas for Rachel? They usually get a name. Not sure if Beverley or Alex would go around doing it again but not sure. They got Melody Thornton (one of the pussycat dolls) to do the China tour so she could be a possibility but she might not be well known enough in U.K.
Who would people like to see? Any new ideas

Found this clip of a 15 year old girl (now 19 I think) in an American tv show who sounds amazing as Whitney

Not really 'names' but if Zoe Birkett or Joanna Francis got the tour, I'd totally go as I didn't see either of those originally. I saw Heather Headley once and Alexandra Burke 3 times so it would be nice to see someone new!

I wish they'd start casting Rachel as a slightly more mature established diva rather than a pop starlet. Though I liked Alexandra Burke, the casting continued on getting young and young since then. I much prefer a Rachel in the age group of Heather Headley, Beverley Knight and Deborah Cox.
The recent vocal quality of the leading ladies has also dramatically diminished. These songs require a BIG voice and not just "nice" voice that can carry the songs. I wish they'd recruit Gloria Onitiri again. She was Heather's standby/alternate and was absolutely terrific, and her voice was shockingly powerful.

They brought back Carole Stennett to be the alternate last time

I have a feeling they trialed Melody Thornton in China to see if she would be good for the U.K. tour. I mean would the Chinese really know who she is? Why not just get someone not as famous to play the role in China unless they were seeing if she could be a contender for the U.K. tour

Would ANYONE know who she is?! Pussycat Dolls were barely popular and all of its members were nameless with exception to Nicole who really garnered fame from TV. Having said that, you're probably right. They probably cast her for China to warm her up for a subsequent UK tour.

Would they give it to Carole Stennett or Zoe Birkett? What about Rachel John- though it’s unlikely she would leave Hamilton for this.
Maybe they don’t need a ‘name’ anymore.

I think they could probably sustain a tour without a name, but if they can get a name then that would be even more successful for them I'm sure. Of course, if it's a name that anyone has actually heard of.
I hope it isn't Carole Stennett...saw her on the last tour and found her performance to be very much below par.
Zoe Birkett however, was amazing and I preferred her to La Burke - by the end of her run people were booking to see her specifically as she'd ended up with such positive word of mouth in comparison to Alex, so I think she would be a good choice.

^Not sure what you mean by ‘positive word of mouth in comparison to Alex’? Alexandra was warmly received in the role as far as I saw. She certainly sold a lot of tickets.
I do like Zoe, though; she would do a fine job and it’d be good for her to a get a big ‘break.’

Ah, great. I think Zoe would be a great choice in that case! Better than a Pussycat Doll anyways.

I agree, Zoe was good. She even had a few stops that did not include Alexandra in them and they sold very well. She'd be good if/when she comes back, but I'd rather someone new, though I wouldn't be very surprised if it was her.

I wonder what Leona Lewis or Cynthia Erivo would be like in the roles Haha, I think Cynthia’s days of treading the boards in Milton Keynes are well and truly over 😂 She’s far too important now... 🙄

But could she do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke?

Stylistically, this is not Cynthia's alley at all. Not to mention that she's doing pretty well (and totally infatuated with the opportunities in the US). So I doubt she'd come back to London anytime soon, let alone for a tour of a jukebox musical.
Leona Lewis on the other hand is ideal for this role. I just hope she has three Redbulls before each show. She looked like she was sedated in Cats.

^ which seems to match the personality Leona exudes on television appearances, too, unfortunately.
I also agree about Cynthia. I’m sure she’d consider Rachel Marron as beneath her now.

Leona Lewis has no charisma whatsoever and would be dreadful.

Rachel Marron is a superstar diva. Leona’s career has never reached the stratosphere that it should have, not because her voice isnt good enough but because she’s meek, mousey, and totally un-fabulous. If she can’t fake a bit of va-va-voom to progress her own career the chances of her being able to act it are very slim.
Bet she couldn’t do the accent either.
