Who's that in the clip? She's fab.
(whoever did her make up didn't blend her wig very well though)

That's Romy Monteiro who is Rachel in the Dutch version (not based on the London/tour version..they're doing their own). She's a contender from the Dutch The Voice. TBH I didn't love her, her alternate Rachel April Darby was much better and had killer vocals.
Probably the best thing in the Dutch version is that they kept the original Whitney keys and didn't transpose them down as the London/tour/Germany productions.

To be fair, it could actually be Rachel Marron (and knowing what I do about Rachel herself, it would be a better fit), I'm not massively hot on this show - but I'm fairly certain she's going into it. I thought it was booking in venues until the end of June? EDIT: ah, just done some digging. Zoe Birkett is definitely leaving the tour early so maybe Rachel is replacing her?

Woot! Wouldn't mind a new Rachel! Good tickets available for Woking in April during my trip to catch Sunset!

Melissa James as Nicki Marron had far more...everything...than Alexandra Burke. Acted better, sung better and danced better albeit in a much smaller role. She has that potential for divan that Burke didn't.

If Rachel goes into the cast before Canterbury (my local theatre is the Marlowe) then I am SO there every night! Fingers crossed!

She has that potential for divan that Burke didn't. Yes, she is quite good. As Nikki. But I saw her as Rachel as well and she struggled. People really like to crap on Alexandra, who for a rookie, does a fabulous job.

Ah, that's a shame she struggled - she looked very promising.
Maybe she had an off night when I saw her but Alexandra's harmonies were off and she struggled to hold her notes and remember to breathe whilst dancing! Her ballads were good, great in one song but for me, she was not fabulous.

Did she stick her finger in her ear to get the hard notes, Sue?

Right! So I booked a matinee in Woking in the front row to see whoever replaces Ms. Birkett! And now trying to bully my friends in London for someone to hike it with me to see an evening show (and having extreme difficulty convincing them!).

Did she stick her finger in her ear to get the hard notes, Sue? Yesss! Although she could've stuck all her fingers and toes in her ears and she still wouldn't have made that harmony with her sister. Sheesh, I gasped out loud when that happened. Bless her.

I don't recall her doing that when I saw it but it was a while ago. Likewise harmony issues but someone else was on as her sister so that could be why.

I would quite like to see this again when it comes to Leicester. I will have to go to a matinee though so i wonder who i'll see as i know that Zoe Birkett is leaving just before it gets to Leicester.

Well some posts ahead it is said that Rachel John will be joining, so maybe she will join as Rachel. I wonder what Zoe will be doing later on? This certainly has been a high point in her career and got her great attention.

Rachel is Nicki, u/s Rachel. Carole Stennett is the new alternate agh..really?! I saw Carole in London as Rachel. Not a total disaster, but not amazing either. It would be interesting to see Rachel as Rachel. I wonder if Alex has any non-committed runs throughout the the remainder of the tour that would bump Carol to evening Rachel and Rachel John to daytime Rachel.

I'd have thought Rachel John might have suited Rachel better.

Cast is changing today, just appears they're really crap at announcing the new ones...
I saw Carole in London too, I did enjoy her but have seen better, I feel like we got spoilt with Zoe this year, I saw Melissa twice and didn't love her.
Alex is off for the Canterbury run and Sunderland but Zoe's doing that one (including Saturday matinees).

But understudy Nikki does the mid-week matinees, so Rachel John might get a stab at doing Rachel. I just noticed that they added two more tour stops now following Leeds, where I thought the show would end in May. It's now playing in Norwich and Eastbourne.
