Sorry about the above. Meant to quote andy614 just the once, but got in a pickle. Sorry. Anyway, I digress (and have lost my original post). I was at the matinee today too and thought Bev was sensational. However, there is something wrong about the show in my opinion. The story just seems to be filling in time between Bev's big numbers. I didn't see the tour, so can't comment on that, but saw the original at the Adelphi, although that was without Heather Headley or Bev, as neither did matinees at that time. The theatre (stalls at any rate) was pretty well packed, with full SO before they get you up dancing!

In fact I've just finally got around to doing my write up on my blog and my main thing was that the story is literally there to fill the gaps between the songs. It's a shame because if that had been fleshed out more it would have worked so much better in my eyes. If anyone's interested my blog post is here: westendwanderer.com/2016/07/15/review-the-bodyguard-dominion-theatre-london/

I could swear there was no skyline in the original and the tour in the scene right after Queen of the Night.

That's actually the second picture The first picture was released by People Magazine some time ago, in the peacock dress. I've already booked to see this in December, once with Ms. Deborah and once with the alternate, whoever she may be. First row baby! Behold:

Behold: Oh crap, sorry Ali, I never realised one had already been released! Well she looks incredible! Notably more purple/blue than the original and apparently corseted than straps like the current one. That I Will Always Love You dress is one of my favourite costumes ever, I just think it is such a stunning outfit!

Both shots are photoshopped to death, which I'm not too crazy about, but Deborah does look great. What a figure. There's a clip of her singing I Will Always Love You at some gathering, and another from the Broadway in Chicago concert. She'll sing it quite well. She's already done these songs since she's dubbed the singing voice for Whitney in the Whitney bio movie.

She looks like Tamar Braxton! I liked her singing a lot in the Whitney film, so hopefully she will be incredible!

For those who want to hear Deborah that haven't yet, here is her recordings from the Whitney movie. I Will Always Love You is linked but there are other songs in the playlist. notably different, especially at the end. It has the feeling you can tell it is a recording session or taken directly from the movie. But she sounds great!

It's clipped directly from the movie (since they didn't release a soundtrack). You hear a sound of door opening because the voice is over "Whitney" leaving the dressing room to the stage. Its one cheesy movie, but it's easy to watch. There's also a scene that shows them wrapping up the shooting of The Bodyguard

It is cheesy, but it is great light entertainment too. And as a massive Whitney fan, it is good for a smile and a sob for me haha. God I miss her!

Could Nicole Scherzinger be a potential Rachel Marrion in the future? I'm not the biggest fan of all this celeb casting nonsense as alot of the time it can be a massive letdown but after her brilliant performance in Cats, and her vocals here, she could rock it!

I doubt she'd do it plus she's not black.

She is very clearly talented, it is an amazing role for the leading lady, one of the better roles for a leading lady in recent years, if she chose to do it, it would be brilliant!

I guess since it's based on Whitney Houston's Rachel then it's unlikely we're ever going to have a Rachel who isn't black.

I think it's expected that Rachel is black. Granted, there have been various shades of Rachels..The Dutch and German productions' Rachels are multi-racial. In all honesty I always thought that Nicole was multi-racial and half black but someone corrected me and I learned that she's part Hawaiian part Filipino.
