Just booked tickets to see this in Wimbledon. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those "so bad it's good" shows. And with tickets for a tenner I thought I might as well. I'm expecting a hilarious evening. The Hoff and 80s/90s music - amazing! ;-)
Will report back.

I've tried to see this twice so far and both venues have been cancelled - Darlington at the end of November and Sunderland a couple of weeks ago. (Hadn't actually booked tickets, was just going to turn up on the day.) I'm keeping an eye on the tour dates to see if there's anywhere else I can get to - being a 90s girl, the music appeals to me!

I hope they don't cancel Wimbledon. I'd be slightly disappointed.

Saw this at the O2 last year - great fun. Overwhelmingly cheesy, paper-thin plot, variable acting and dubious singing - but I loved it!

So, I watched this tonight and I can honestly say it was the most ridiculous show I have seen in my life. Complete trash and hilarious - and everyone on stage was well aware of that. Highlight has to be the Hoff singing the Baywatch theme song.
The audience went mad. Definitely not for someone expecting a proper musical. There was a warm up guy pre show and filming, taking photos and singing along was encouraged.
My friends and I had a blast. A tenner well spent.

Looks like I'm destined not to see this - Bradford next week seems to have also been cancelled. No explanations anywhere, it's still listed on the tour dates on the production website (as are Darlington and Sunderland) but no sign of it on the theatre website?? At the very least they should explain it's been cancelled, if that is the case.

Literally one of the top 5 worst things I've ever seen. I was embarrassed for everyone on stage.

The Hoff did a speech at the end and only then did we realise it was the last night. We were sure there was at least one more tour stop so this confused us slightly at the time. Makes sense now.

Literally one of the top 5 worst things I've ever seen. I was embarrassed for everyone on stage. See, I wasn't because everyone on stage seemed so well aware of how bad the show was. They were all not taking it seriously themselves. It was a cast intentionally make fun of their own show and having a great time doing so.

Why on earth would ANYONE go and watch this? And pay for it?! Because it's hilarious?? I haven't laughed that much at a show in a while. Well worth a tenner. :-)

I went with a friend on Thursday due to very cheap tickets - we billed it as a silly night out before even getting there and had below zero expectations. Some fun cheesy music, the girl playing Penny had a great voice and some laughs brought it above those expectations. The Hoff of course brought it way below as neither of us are fans (and neither of us have ever seen Baywatch!)
All in all I would never have paid much for it but it was fun, not all nights at the theatre need to be thought provoking, some can just be insanely ridiculous and this was one of them!

Scene: an airport lounge. The flight is delayed. Song: 'Things could only get better' (20 seconds to avoid paying full rights) Scene: On a plane to Ibiza Song 'We're going to Ibiza' Scene: A man expresses his desire for more excitement in his life. Song: 'Spice up your life'
Repeat cycle forever and ever for eternity until you realise you're in Hell and this is all you will ever know.

But honestly, anyone going in there expecting a proper musical, an actual story line and good performances surely must have booked completely blind and has never heard of The Hoff before. It was bound to be hilariously bad. I would have been disappointed to see anything but the most ridiculous "show" ever. ;-)

I have been looking forward to seeing this since the tour was announced last summer. Being German and having had to endure 'The Hoff' for most of my childhood (I loved Knight Rider and Baywatch but hated his music) I was fully expecting this to be a terrible show. I was actually expecting something as bad as/worse than Too Close to the Sun with trashy 90's music and the Hoff thrown in. And it definitely delivered, it was deliciously atrocious and I spent the whole show laughing my head off.
I apologised to the girl sitting next to me before the show started, warning her that I would probably spend the next two hours in hysterics and she said, "That's fine, my sister is in the cast." I felt bad for a second, but her next words were that her sister had told her and her parents to get absolutely hammered before the show, to be able to make it through. ;p I think with it being the last show of the tour, there were a lot of friends and family in (the stalls were packed and the Dress and Upper looked full as well) and everyone was up for it and knew what they were letting themselves in for.
I kept thinking though how soul-destroying it must have been for the cast, performing that show on a Wednesday matinee somewhere in the regions.
