General consensus (another cut character) seems to be that as a broad comedy adaptation of the movie it succeeds, especially with the added jokes making it funnier in terms of straight-forward jokes than the movie. However, as a satire it doesn't have a lot to say in terms of parallels to modern day politics (outside of a few references).

The sets and screen projections are congratulated but are criticised somewhat for remaining a flat black-and-white colourscheme to recreate the movie.

Each reviewer had different opinions on Coogan's roles, some finding the President a bit of a boring straight-man, while others found the RAF general awkward and wooden - but they all agree Strangelove is (obviously) the best role of the four he plays. It's funny to see what characters resonate with different people.
