Just spoke to ATG, it's either a full refund or seats offered at the same price (not equivalent location). I think I'm going to just ask for a refund, I live in London so am fortunate enough to buy tickets for shows spontaneously so can get cheaper tickets on the day. I just hope tickets don't completely disappear after opening night! Thanks for the update. I'm happy with my decision now lol.

Does the press go on Opening Night or was tonight "press night"? In the US - the critics usually are there two or three days before the official opening so that the reviews go live immediately after the bows are done for the first performance. Just curious with today's cancellation if that impacts critics or what

Eeeek - the night before press night. Ah well wouldn't be Sunset without a drama.
They've had such a successful preview run, am truly keeping everything crossed this doesn't scupper tomorrow.
Sorry for you guys who had tickets tonight - most frustrating.

While we all dress up in various LuPone costumes from her shows. Hundreds of Evita’s, Norma’s and Joanne’s lining the streets bringing attention to one of the biggest atrocities to have ever been perpetrated. Not to mention many tuba-blowing Mrs Lovetts.

Ack - slightly annoying as today was my only planned London trip during the run (except Pacific Overtures in December but am not able to do a two show day then)… Ah well, just have to hope it extends or settle for living vicariously through all the reports on here!

It won’t extend with plaza suite filling the savoy a couple weeks later

Press were invited across last night, tonight, and for tomorrow's opening night as per the New York model, with reviews embargoed till Friday first thing. This has to be a major blow to the production but I would imagine they are freaking out over the tech glitches yesterday night - which had never happened before. If it's a genuine cast illness, that won't be put right within 24 hours, as was rightly said above.

As none of us know what the illness is and who is ill I don't think anyone can say it won't be put right in 24 hours.

I don’t know the specifics in this case, but illness has been used as a catch-all reason for cancellation since the dawn of time. It’s easy to say, impossible to question and generally the audience are a lot more sympathetic as a reason. Keeps it human and out of your hands, whereas with technical issues people will, and do complain more. It’s a mighty coincidence someone is ill the night before press night, when at the prior performance they had experienced technical issues which could really hurt reviews. Don’t blame them for the “official reason” though, anyone would do the same

Cancelling tonight due to cast illness, but not tomorrow night, is very plausible. If it's a couple of people down - principal actor and understudy - they could be working round the clock to rehearse the second cover in for press night.
I know that's hypothetical, but it's rarely the case that cast illness means multiple cancelled performances.

So do we know if any special A-listers are coming for Opening night? I was wondering if Betty Buckley and Glenn Close might come

Has anyone won the lottery for this? I won for next week and wondering where I’m likely to be sitting.

Got a ticket to see this last Monday. Ok, wow. So many thoughts but not sure I have the words to express them. First of all, to anyone who doubted Nicole Scherzinger, I’m pleased to say you are so very wrong. She was everything I could hope for and more in the role. ‘With One Look’ and ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’ received as warm an ovation as any I’ve seen on a West End stage in recent times.
Tom Francis is a revelation as Joe and convincingly plays off Scherzinger’s Norma. I have no yardstick to compare Jamie Lloyd’s reimagining of this but the minimalist set design seems to give this piece deep personality and meaning.
My first thought was this is what the stripped-back Oklahoma! might have been with a little more invention and bravery. The use of video and on-stage cameras brings this production to life and leaves no hiding place for the cast.
It is a luscious score, which Scherzinger vocalises beautifully. But the key is in her exquisite portrayal of delusion, grandeur and, ultimately, insanity. Even from the upper circle, her spiralling sense of reality was laid bare. This production is a lot to take in though and occasionally loses itself in its own intensity.
I was already planning a return visit during the main run to see Rachel Tucker as Norma later this year. It now looks as if I’m going to have to find time to see Nicole again but, next time, sitting closer for added intimacy.
I have a strong suspicion I will appreciate it even more on a second or third viewing. But even for £20 and an unhindered upper circle view, this could be the best value ticket in London right now.
Four stars.

But even for £20 and an unhindered upper circle view where abouts in the upper circle were you sat? I was worried that too far back in the upper circle you'd miss the screen because it's tilted forward

I was worried that too far back in the upper circle you'd miss the screen because it's tilted forward I was Row D towards stage right. You don’t really miss any of the screen, it’s tilted downwards but it’s fine.
