Saw this last night, sadly Nicole didn’t stage door. Has she done it before for the show? Would love to see it again, but ticket prices. Anyone had any luck winning the lottery, what kind of seats were there? Feels like a show where you’d want to be up close No, apparently if you sit too close you won’t be able to appreciate all that’s happening. Either that or you’ll be able to see Nicole’s acting is ropey when you’re not a good distance away from it.

Row C all good for me - perfect seat for this as far as I was concerned!

Just arrived for the evening performance today and there are notices up in the foyer saying that filming is taking place in the auditorium today:
BY ENTERING THESE PREMISES YOU CONSENT TO BEING PHOTOGRAPHED AND TELEVISED BY MEANS OF A TAPE OR VIDEO RECORDING THAT MAY BE USED AT A LATER DATE.

This was outside last night too, didn’t see anything actually being recorded

Wouldn't it be lovely though if it was being captured with a view to a recording of it being made available in future? If b-roll this could complement a proper recording?

Pretty much every single show (Broadway/West End) has this note up at one point or another when they film their B-Roll.

It’s for the EPK as I understand the show is now frozen.

Yes any filming will just be for the EPK and to accompany publicity on opening night

Sorry if this has already been answered but can anybody advise what the view is like from the second-to-cheapest seats in the upper circle, approx 4 rows from the back?
Skimmed through various mentions of not being able to see screens at certain points in the show.
Planning to get as close to the middle of the row as possible.

the only sunset production i've seen is that danny mac one they filmed over covid, and i enjoyed that, but wow that production has nothing on this version. I adored every second and cannot wait to go back and see Rachel's take. The entire act 2 opening sequence is insane and I can't believe Tom does that every night.

Lovely touch getting a glass of Prosecco on the way in tonight because it was the Savoy Theatre’s birthday.
Full review to follow - but bloody hell, this is a masterpiece.

Lucky you, I didn't see any prosecco :-)
But believe the hype, and re-double it. This production makes musical theatre history and the roar at the curtain call was like very few I have heard in a lifetime of theatregoing. David Thaxton (Max) looked quite overwhelmed by the response (and he is BRILLIANT in the part, as they all are)
That said, tonight was the first critics' preview, and a critic down the row from me was expressing a flat out dislike for the show at the interval, so who knows what the reviews will be on Friday? Jamie Lloyd and co certainly deserve every kudos going.

Going tomorrow for the 3rd time, this show has really cast a spell over me. I think it’s largely due to how stubborn and uncompromising Jamie Lloyd’s vision is. I love how bold it is, unapologetically bonkers with no intention of pleasing everyone. Hope I’m wrong but I think critics will be savage.

I'm not worried one way or another about the critics. They're power and influence isn't what it once was. The reviews here and on BWW have been overwhelmingly positive on multiple levels. You're never going to get universal acclaim ala Hamilton for an ALW show. I think that a show that was so associated with extravagance and nostalgia like Sunset getting such an edgy re-interpretation with a cast that there's been pretty across the board acclaim is going to continue to get buzz.

The camera feeds broke up a few times last night - once during the Act 2 opener and a few times later in Act 2 (including a few complete blackouts). Hoping the critics don’t try and say it’s too ambitious because I think it’s a technical masterpiece.

Yes, I wondered if those glitches last night might fuel the critics who think JL's approach is all much ado about nothing. More fools they if so - I mean, in the original production, John Napier's monumental set was known to malfunction quite a bit, too LOL! (There was a telling glimpse though for a nanosecond of one of the technicians looking panicky, and who can blame him?)
It is a tech masterpiece.
