I’ve seen two of these before, hope to see this one.
I actually did LOL that Julian’s not just Smee… he’s Seaman Smee. Disappointed to see Zerdin is still there, no doubt doing the same shtick. As all the regulars do, but his seems particularly repetitive.

Peter Pan was traditionally played by a woman but gender swapping Hook and Tinkerbell is not something I've seen done before.

I really dislike Peter Pan, but no doubt I will eventually go to this.

Peter Pan is always the worst panto in my experience. No Dame etc, plus after Mischief's Peter Pan Goes Wrong it's pretty much impossible to watch straight!
I really don't think I'll bother going this year. Same cast, same gags, same ludicrously high prices. I can see two of three local pantos for the price of one trip to the Palladium. Then again, I am tempted just to see how many gags Julian can squeeze out of Seaman Smee.

Sometimes they do write a dame into Peter Pan - they'll probably do so for Wilmot. I actually quite like the casting of Saunders as Captain Hook I have to say. Unexpected but interesting.
Whichever young musical theatre actor becomes the "hit" of the year in the West End will be cast as Peter Pan I'm sure, as in previous years.

How does one get priority tickets? The mother in law is interested and I could do with the brownie points

Any idea when the press night will be? Looking at the performance schedule my guess would be 14th December

Kind of thought it was only a matter of time before the managed to get Jennifer Saunders after having Dawn French twice.
Rob Madge as Tinkerbell actually feels inspired.
Can almost hear the jokes coming from Julian over his characters name.

Not sure on Rob as Tinkerbell to be honest. Gay guy = fairy seems pretty outdated, especially with the inevitable fairy jokes that will come with it.

I'm not a fan of peter pan either, but I guess it's just a loose narrative to fit the usual gags in.

I wonder whether she'll still double as Mr Darling? Havers as Mr Darling would work and maybe double up as another role.

I might try and see it because Jennifer’s in it. However, I hope it nothing like the Peter Pan I saw a few years ago with Craig Revel Horwood as Captain Hook.

The bloody gender balance on the Palladium Panto is an absolute joke. There are rarely more than two women in the cast. It’s ridiculous. Sorry to be a grinch but it just never changes. It’s archaic.

Rob is actually Non Binary. not a gay man - and in the script so was his cow, which was handled sensitively and with humour. I hope for more of the same from them. (..though more of the same does seem to be all we can expect from palladium panto's these days...)

Hopefully, and my point wasn't about Rob how he identifies as such, more about how gay/queer and fairies have always had negative connotations in general and been used for cheap laughs. Even recently on Broadway in Finding Neverland there was a camp character and joke around being a fairy.
