The talk of tourists as an interesting one and certainly in the future this show's longevity will depend on whether or not they want to and indeed can get to Wembley.
The audience at the moment is VERY British (in comparison to West End). And it's selling out on that currently. But it will need to find tourists to plough on beyond one year I'd say. I hope it does!

The 5pm Sunday show was packed! It's a big noisy show that would be great to introduce new people to musical theatre (no pesky plot slowing things down!) Also the best seats are definitely further back, the front rows miss so much.

Lots of changes today, most noticeably, they’ve really upgraded the lighting and visual effects. Lots of new spotlights. The strobe is quite intense at times and must be hard to skate under (I find the floor effects in the bar area enough to throw me off balance).
I got mistaken for an usher as well, but I was able to help a woman to her seat. I took my payment as free water.
The unfortunate woman in the row in front of me was desperate for a call of nature about five minutes in. She had to wait a few more minutes for a safe time to leave and didn’t appear again until act two. I’m sure they found her a temporary seat, but please do use the facilities early, if possible. I know sometimes the urge to go can happen without warning.
For Asher fans, he is back from what I assume was time off to move home. It was a nice surprise to spot him close to me in the grid in a popular app (not a stalker - honest).
Still lots of covers on. At the weekend, all four Components were covers, and Jessie Angell was on as third cover Slick (doing great). As the poor bloke at the end of Carriage 4 found, the cover Volta is just as good at hitting you with their inflatable as the real one!

My friend struggles with the strobe lighting and was genuinely surprised a show with so many lighting effects didn't have a warning sheet of timings for people with light sensitivities or types of epilepsy (these are commonly available for most large productions).
I hope Starlight do some relaxed performances to enable more people to attend.

Got given a free ticket tonight and thought I would try again.
Not only is it not a great show, it has now got very lazy. I left in the interval and no matter what I will not return to see this cheap mediocre show.
Oh I know Michael Harrison is laughing his way to the bank with this piece of nonsense but still let's be honest this show is not great.
When will people see through the substandard work of Luke Shepherd. he is never gonna be in the same league as the Marianne Elliots Rupert Goulds and Jamie Lloyds.

Since I was there at the weekend. I shouldn’t say there were more lights, just they were getting more use, with the levels adjusted and more lighting sequences programmed in. But now you have me doubting my memory, so I’ll await confirmation from others.

Most times I have been (about 5 now) I have also thought there were more lighting sequences programmed in and more "use" of the existing lighting rig. There is deffo more than previews but the last couple of times I've not been sure if it's just my perception. I've liked it more every time I have been though and "got over" the fact that it's not the original with increasing success and am sure one's mood can affect the softer perception of shows - the brain is a funny thing - so who knows!? Either way the lighting of this show is epic and it's incredibly visually pleasing.

That’s good to hear ceebee. I enjoy a good light show. I’ve got my first visit booked in for the Sunday evening show on the bank holiday weekend.

I managed to get first class carriage seats in the rush yesterday and wow, they are fantastic, really immersive! It was quite overwhelming at the start. They had a show stop for about 15 mins after the opening number when a bit of the stage floor had to be fixed, which allowed me to catch my breath, ha.
Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex were there last night, I remember reading ALW gave him his first job as a production assistant on Starlight Express and Cats in the 80s... I noticed Sophie gave a standing ovation, he did not!

If they’re playing around with the lighting have they sorted the laser and logo animation being out of sync on one of the letters?.

Went back today for the first time since the first preview. Was great to see it tighter (not that it was loose before, but anyway).
There’s still one actor who I don’t think is right in their role.
I still can’t get behind the costumes and the choreography is still not that exciting. Also, the plot it almost there, just a bit more exposition here and there for certain characters.
The Starlight Sequence is so much better with Momma up top now and the lighting seemed a lot more exciting too.
Is ‘Hydrogen’ shorter now, I’m sure it was longer before?!
I also think there was a bit less Control on stage this time, which I think worked better - I do like having them onstage though. I hope the same actor who played Control at the matinee today doesn’t have to do this evening’s as well, so much energy.
Anyway. Up from 3.5 stars to 4.25 this time haha. I’m sure there’s more I’ll want to say later.

Has anyone heard any rumours about a cast recording? Think so Think you’ve heard a rumour or think it’s happening? RUG painfully silent on the matter! (And there isn’t the online campaigning there was for Sunset).

More thoughts (in no particular order):
Does Killerwatt’s name get said as the components are introduced? Also, ‘These must be his minders?’
The barrels in Wide Smile were in wrong order.
The freight costumes really should be more distinct. Then again, the designer just seems to have been very lazy overall.
The Coaches need better introductions. They need just a couple of lines each.
Electra’s sunglasses are ridiculous and serve no purpose and then Pearl just takes them and hands them to someone else.
Some very obvious opportunities for character development are missed which is a great shame.
Does Greaseball shoo Control away normally?
Also, I couldn’t tell 100% but when they’re getting ready for the first race, Belle was with Tassita and acting like she wanted to be picked. It looked like Tassita did too, but did not have a helmet on, where Belle did. Just a tiny detail that should be looked at.

Ok so I went again on Sunday and it does feel like the lighting sweeps out more into the whole auditorium where previously, it was a lot more focused on the stage area and left most of the Locomotive section in the dark. Specifically, the linear array on both sides angling towards the stage initially, then swivelling outwards so they beam deep into the space. Don't know if that's really new but it gave a lovely effect and caught my eye!
Also giggling at the barrel in Momma's Blues not giving its intended effect half the time!
