I wanted to listen to this again but Amazon Prime now only has one song available rather than the whole album. Has anyone seen the full album on any other platforms? Thanks!

Thanks You are in for a treat as the Original Cast recording is much clearer and vocally stronger than the Broadway one (even though the supporting cast remains the same). Much as I love the score, the Broadway recording is a mess in terms of sound/clarity/production. |

"The musical play centers on the experiences of Usher, a queer Black man writing a musical about a queer Black man writing a musical, while working as a theater usher and being assailed by thoughts that threaten to undermine him. It's already had two acclaimed productions and won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and it's premiering on Broadway in April at the Lyceum Theatre, one of the first Broadway productions with a Black queer protagonist. And its cast is all LGBTQ+ people of color."

Without trying to be controversial, people can identify as being Queer without being part of the LGBT community. And if, as on Broadway, the criterion was LGBTQ+, the plus can include many other identities including Allies (under certain definitions)

Yeah, I looked on the Barbican website and the actual cast they have listed is quite different to that Instagram post: just as well I didn’t have the money to just splurge on the tickets only to find who is in it afterwards. |

The advertising showing photos of the producers was all over Facebook.
I called them out on it as being misleading. And it was very clear that lots of commenters were excited at seeing big names on stage.
Really is not an acceptable advert

It seems that their starry list of producers is all they have going for them marketing wise. I've seen one poster in a couple of locations around London but all it tells me is it was 'broadways big musical' or something to that effect in yellow type with the blue-purple background.
Had I not been a theatre person already in the know about the show, this would do absolutely nothing to entice me to check it out. No identifiable key art, nothing to draw you in other than a sentence that tells you its an advert for a musical, and the list at the bottom of the poster saying trafalgar studios, national theatre, and a few others are partners in it made me think that it took a lot of people to raise the money to invest in it coming over here.
I'm intrigued to go see the show, but that is only because I knew it was a Tony winning best musical and I followed it slightly beforehand. Wouldn't be surprised if their strategy to shout from the rooftops about all their celeb producers will confuse some of the public online, it was cheeky enough when 9 to 5 had Dolly Parton name over the top of it!

I don't know if comments are being deleted from their Facebook post as I didn't see anyone complaining, instead was surprised by the distinct lack of engagement. The post from 12 April with the producers photos only has 5 comments!
I'm so excited to see the show but do wonder if it is going to find an audience here, especially in such a bit theatre.
