I am an American middle school teacher at an all-boys school. I direct a play for 8th graders each spring. I had a great time directing "The Thwarting of Barron Bolligrew" and loved the play for its humor and the abundance of male parts. I am just wondering if any across the pond can help me find another gem like that. Are there plays like Baron out there that I do not know about? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

I was going to say '39 Steps' adapted by Patrick Barlow as it is very funny and can be done with a large cast in schools (professionally it's usually done with a cast of 4 with wild multi-roling), however there is a bit of romance and even kissing so perhaps not for Year 8? Toad of Toad Hall is good.

8th grade in the USA is 13 and 14 year olds?
Animal Farm or Lord of the Flies could possibly work.

Laura Easons'version of Around the World in Eighty Days (published by Nick Hern Books) has 3f 5m, doubling (very large cast possible.)
