Really hope this is a new production. Same here. Surely will be a Jamie Lloyd version?

Utterly thrilling news for JB who is superb (will reserve judgement till I've seen Eddie).
I'd basically like anyone BUT Jamie Lloyd to direct this - I just don't get on with anything I've seen of his. But this will be a hot ticket for sure.

If it’s Jamie Lloyd number, there’s probably someone painting the set grey as we speak

Yeah, I used to quite like Jamie Lloyd, but I’d prefer someone other than him. Baz also tweeted its a new production.

The real question is who will play Fräulein Schneider. Imelda could be very good, but she's probably too much of a name now in the West End to play second banana. Clare Burt would be brilliant. She was a great Sally too

I don't care if Redmayne is rubbish, Buckley is worth the ticket price on her own no matter how expensive they will inevitably be!

I don’t think these two actors would be signing up for a production directed by Lindsay Posner. Jamie Lloyd has a track record for attracting A list talent for his company at that very theatre.
I didn’t get on with his production of Evita, but I’d much rather see something different and fresh done with this piece, than something safe and seen before.

If its a Jamie Lloyd production then probably Soutra Gilmour will do the sets so expect lots of old rusty mirrors. Certainly very tempting to see them both on stage, although I saw Jessie in A Little Night Music before she was as famous. I'd actually prefer to see a role reversal as Eddie does makes a lovely lady.

It feels like it it was Lloyd then Baz might have mentioned it? He likes to drop big names his info does usually come from the horse's mouth. Could there be *gasp* OTHER directors out there?

I just dont see Eddie Redmayne as the MC, but i think he'd be a great Cliff.

I'd actually prefer to see a role reversal as Eddie does makes a lovely lady. I'm sure he'll still get that opportunity as the MC! Just been reading more about this and it's apparently the fourth time Eddie has played the MC, the first dating back to his student days at Eton.

Really hope this is a new production. Yes, much as I loved the Rufus Norris version, it's fairly old now and been a bit too bastardised.

I absolutely loved his original staging with Anna Maxwell Martin but the subsequent Kenwrightification of the tour and the scaled down West End version with Will Young was starting to look rather tatty and forlorn the last few times it was out on the road.
