Sorry if a thread already exists on this show - I wasn’t able to find one!
ARE YOU AS NERVOUS AS I AM? A NEW BRITISH MUSICAL
All Peggy wanted was a family… all she found was fame.
Estranged sisters Peggy and Janet are united by two things: the struggle with their dysfunctional mother and the desire for a brighter future. Each possessing both softness and strength, the sisters’ tumultuous journeys are woven together as they search for their happy endings.
A beautiful, brave and bold story of love and the pursuit of happiness…the importance of overcoming adversity, and the courage required to follow your dreams.
With book by Simon Spencer, music by Leighton James House and lyrics by Shaun McKenna.
Haven’t heard much word of mouth yet! Has anyone seen the show?

The reviews I saw were 3*, and I think I would agree. The marketing and title don’t do this show any favours, they don’t describe what you’re going to see at all. I would say it’s more like A Star is Born and End of the Rainbow mash up, but with the addition of a sister, but I thought her back story was left unexplored, it is definitely all about the singer. The cast are fantastic and the lead has a lovely voice, but IMHO, some of the songs were a bit samey and didn’t evoke the era they were set in (the show spans the 1940s to the 1970s). However, there was a lot to enjoy and I’m glad I saw it and with some tweaks this could be elevated.
