Iâm thinking Michelle Visage⊠Is Miranda a non-singing role? It should be. Which is one of the reasons it doesnât work as a musical.

I was just throwing a bit of shade at Visage đ I know â€ïž Vanessa has songs but, one more would nail it as a lead role. Of course Andie getâs the âI Wantâ song but, Miranda should have one as well. I was in London this week and saw TDWP twice. Once in the dress circle and again in the front row. Amy, Georgie and Vanessa are giving more than 100%. First time I had a chat with the sweet Rob Madge and we all agree itâs a great night out. Yes, costumes could be improved. Itâs not enough but, it was enough for me.

I can't see an "I Want Song" ever going to Miranda...I think the material she has is fine but given that she is meant to be devoid of caring or emotion, giving her a song almost seems wrong to begin with. But they did give her something to sing about in Act Two though the number seems over before it even gets started.

Blimey this show is absolutely fur coat and no knickers. Looks great, the girls are great, but it's pretty bad.

From Whatâs On Stage⊠so who will take over as Miranda? Or will they persuade Vanessa to stay and itâll be other cast who leave. I guess the start of June will have been a year since Plymouth rehearsals began.
The show has now extended to 18 October 2025, reporting that itâs become the fastest-selling show in Dominion Theatre history. Casting for performances from 2 June 2025 is to be confirmed in due course.

I mean I imagine its by throwing cash at them, but he still manages to get good names for a lot of his projects

I guess the definition of big names is subjective - I wasn't talking about Vanessa levels of people really, but he'd orchestrated Whoopi Goldberg and Jennifer Saunders in Sister Act pre-pandemic, which then led to Beverley Knight and Ruth Jones - big names maybe the wrong phrase but he certainly can get household names that put bums on seats...

This show IS the name, it doesnât need a name. Debbie will take over, thereâs no way she wouldâve agreed to being off stage cover with no guarantee of taking overâŠ
Shows need names when nobodyâs heard of the show. Something like Shucked would need a name because the conversation will go âdo you wanna go see Gareth Gates in that new show I canât remember the name of?â
The conversation will never be âdo you wanna go see Vanessa Williams in that show I canât remember the name of?â It will ALWAYS be âshall we go to see a show, Devil Wears Prada I love that film, letâs book tickets. Oooh look the lady from Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives is playing Meryl Streepâ

Star names sell tickets.

There is no way she is taking over. She isnât a name to the general public. No, she isnât, but I donât think they need a name for this. They need a phenomenal MT performer to sell what is not the best material ever.

They need a phenomenal MT performer to sell what is not the best material ever. Thatâs not true. This role doesnât require someone with an amazing voice, or to bust out impressive dance moves. They need to have stage presence and look fierce in the clothes. They will be looking for a ânameâ to replace VW.
