We were at the same show capybara. I hope Charlotte was ok and I was surprised to see the swing come on. Oddly enough I had thought Analisa had looked low energy during the show so I was surprised Charlotte didn’t finish. My daughter has now seen a witch switch and a swing come on for a main character. She thinks it happens far more than I think it does. I’ve been trying to find out how old the actress playing Jade is because I thought she was a child. Or at least an early teen. |

The pricing is very weird for this, looking for the matinee tomorrow and 70% seats are unsold are some are £50+ for a show just over an hour!

I saw this yesterday having not really been bothered about it previously but thanks to offers available I thought why not, I purposely didn’t look at too much about this before going in as to make sure I went in with an open mind.
I have to agree with a previous post about the comparisons to Six its a very loose comparison with in my mind its only similarities between the 2 and not Six’s little sister as the marketing would have you believe! I found the show to be just too busy with the amount of fantastic women they used, I think if they had honed it down to 4,5 or six different fantastic women's stories it would have been a lot better. The music was ok and there were a few catchy ones in there but the morning after the day before I woke up with Mincemeat songs in my head and nothing from this (or that awful Olympic closing ceremony!) so not quite sure if that says they are memorable enough, the pace I found a little slow with there dialogue slowing it down further and a bit unnecessary to be so long in parts. The cast is strong and was nice to see Meg Hateley again. Band were as you would expect brilliant and the set design is clever with the movable boxes.
I think this is a show that just doesn’t know what it wants to be, is it an entertainment piece, an education piece, a kids show etc… I think the audience its trying to achieve is way off the mark
Personally in its current form I think its probably a good education piece introducing fantastic historical women to a younger audience! If they put it on a regional tour in studio type spaces and sold exclusively to schools this will work. 2 Stars from me

I saw this a couple of weeks ago towards the end of July and quite enjoyed it, but I was seated in the front row to the side (A1, for anyone who knows the place well) and sometimes had a performer belt out a number with her back to me, and given the size of the stage it felt like there was no real need for that. Plus for a few numbers the stage lighting was shining directly at me, which was quite unpleasant, so I feel very aware that perhaps with better seating I might have enjoyed it more.
