David tends to produce smaller west end shows so it'll be something that might end up in a smaller house (IE it's not mean girls or something mega commercial) - he's producing the Stan and Harry tour (I think that's the title) and produced the Band and the Calendar Girls musical tour

Not necessarily a musical? I see someone has asked him about Pride & Prejudice (*sort of) and he has liked the tweet!
I can't think of any West End houses available now for an open ended run! 🤔

I heard the other day that the most recent Broadway production of Oklahoma! was coming over. Anybody else heard about that?

And it has to be the Criterion, right? That's the only theatre free, isn't it? He doesn't specify that it is opening in November. Could be the start of rehearsals?

Also the tweet doesn’t say that it’s big either! Could a one man show.

Star name who's insisted on a large number of affordable seats? Interesting hashtag from David Pugh.
OR perhaps he's just leading the way and cutting out TodayTIX and the rest, and pricing to pack houses from the off. This dance of deal-chasing needs to end, it's so easy for us 'in the know' to see theatre at reasonable cost, but the rest of the country think theatre is vastly expensive and for the 'posh'.
Of course his hashtag may mean that the prices are an astronomical disgrace! lol

Surely this is Pride and Prejudice (Sort Of) David Pugh is talking about and the start date has just been pushed back slightly?
In relation to the comment about ticket prices, Baz's article announcing Pride and Prejudice (Sort Of) in May stated that the best seats would be available for under £50 with no premium prices.

David Pugh has his tongue firmly planted in his cheek with that tweet. He's a real maverick producer and a very vocal opponent of premium pricing. He's also said that after The Band and The Girls that he realised that large scale musicals weren't his thing. This Guardian article gives a hint of how his mind operates!

David Pugh's mystery tweet was very odd, considering he had announced this production at the Criterion months ago! Still, glad it's confirmed and all systems go.
