One night only and now on sale.
I'd not heard of this show so sampled the original concept album on Amazon. Very impressed, stylistically I felt not dissimilar to Dear Evan Hansen. Reasonable prices Immediately booked a front row seat (£36.50)
I'm hoping some of the other musicals that have been streamed online during lockdown get a live performance.

Just received an email including my ticket for this show. It can ONLY be presented on a mobile phone, there is a warning that printed tickets will not be accepted. Moreover it has been set up so that the ticket can't be printed from my computer in the usual way.
I don't use an all singing and dancing smartphone, and while I hope my son will find a way to get the ticket on my basic mobile, I do disagree with being given no alternative. If it has to be like that there should be at least a warning at the time of booking. I respect the right of businesses to go cashless - they don't need or get my patronage - but to refuse a printed ticket and only notify customers the day before isn't on

Had a reply from NIMAX that customers like me without smartphones can collect a printed ticket from the Box Office.
I can't print my own ticket but I can join a queue of possibly maskless people inside the venue to get a ticket printed when I arrive. How that is reducing contact and helping keep everyone safe is beyond me.
I do think there's a principle involved here so I've asked for my comment (worded more or less as above) to be referred up the line for further consideration.

Odd to not accept home printed e-tickets. I routinely print mine so I can still get in if my battery dies!

I can't be bothered to go round in circles, but technically, he started this thread nearly three months ago when tickets went on sale to let people know about the show. :-)
Anyway, I am going as well tonight and am very much looking forward to it. Sounds like Tom Francis had to pull out at the last minute, so one of the producers is stepping in for him. I hope Tom is ok and just not feeling well/resting his voice as he is due to start in Rent at the Hope Mill on Friday.

Not everybody will have access to a smartphone - they aren’t cheap. Regardless of the merit or otherwise of the rest of the comments on this thread, this is just not true. A basic smartphone can easily be found for about £30, a pay as you go SIM costs practically nothing and you can download the ticket before you go out so no data required. Nothing elitist about it. |

Had a great time at the Garrick last night, the cast were fabulous, the music was good, liked some songs more than others and the audience was really enthusiastic, which I loved. Highlights for me were Maiya Quansah-Breed and Luke Bayer singing 'You can't bring me down' and Billy Nevers singing 'Good Stuff'. And hats off to Alex Conder, one of the producers of the show, for stepping in on the day to cover for Tom Francis!!!
Nimax might not have a Covid-pass policy in the theatre, but I very much appreciated that ushers were telling people walking into the auditorium with masks 'thanks for wearing a mask, much appreciated and it would be great if you could keep it on throughout the show', which is a nice touch of the carrot, rather than the stick. But they also had an announcement pre-show, asking people to put/keep on their masks for the safety of everyone in the theatre. There were still a few people I saw without masks but the vast majority either already wore their masks or put them on after the announcement.
