Thanks. Far too far back in the Stalls based on where the Palladium has been willing to release single seats, but just booked.

London’s matinee cancelled and tickets transferred to the evening, which is annoying as I now have to rearrange my tickets for Sunset Boulevard the same day

Such a shame it isn’t selling as well as hoped (but big theatres to go for even at reduced capacity!)

A brisk 75 minute one-act performance tonight (including post show speeches). Most of what I said about the outdoor production last year still holds.
They've trimmed the dialogue still further and got rid of the big screen. They do have an impressive wide stage that has been filled and they have high quality sound. The songs are as fine as ever.
A slightly different cast to last time. I missed the announcement that Tom Francis had replaced Jordan Luke Gage. I do remember seeing Tom at ArtsEd and glad he's done well for himself. He has a great rock voice. A bit of Luke Bayer in the cast as well is never a bad thing.
The biggest annoyance was all the added riffs and the like in the songs, mostly notably in Good Morning Starshine. I know a lot of the cast only really have one big song and want to make the most of it, but it is just out of place.
An enjoyable show anyway and a nice contrast to Sunset Boulevard. I believe there were a few celebrities in the audience (someone near me said they saw Michelle Collins), but I didn't spot anyone. The crowd were really responsive and loved it. And, even though I was near the back of the Stalls, I had a clear view and it didn't matter too much with the spaced out concert staging.
Don't know if this will have a further life beyond Southampton or not, but it could easily be used as a filler show in a small theatre this summer.

Does anyone know if the Southampton show is still happening? It has disappeared from the Mayflower's website, but there has been no announcement. In accordance with the government guidelines, the producers of Hair The Musical in Concert have made the difficult decision to cancel the performance on Sunday 27 June 2021 at Mayflower Theatre. The production has very rigorous testing procedures and protocols in place which alerted the team to a positive Covid result among the Hair company. The health and wellbeing of our customers and company is our top priority and we are very disappointed that the show is now cancelled.
