Wasn't a patch on Brigadoon. There was some terrible woman who kept washing her hands, saying she'd never get them clean. I felt like shouting out 'try Swarfega'.

There are a few Barn Theatres around the country so perhaps Cirencester could be added to the thread title ?
Not seen Brigadoon on stage and the Barn production of Daddy Long Legs is in my top five favourites of the year so I'll definitely be booking.

Very interested in this. It's a lovely score, 'Heather on the Hill' is one of the most beautiful songs in all MT.

A lovely score and a compelling drama too. I remember seeing the last production at the Victoria Palace in 1988 at least three times. The MGM film is fine in its' own right and Heather On The Hill is sublime in that context as danced by Gene and Cyd. However it omitted a number of songs and the key scene where the travellers discover the legend of Brigadoon was botched on account of the outdoor setting. 'It's bloody' Brigadoon' exclaimed Gareth (Simon Callow) on joinng a throng of Scottish dancers in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Bring it on!

One of my favourite scores. Will have to find a way of getting there National Express is best public transport from London though only for matinees, The coach stop is right by the Barn Theatre. I've never paid more than £9 return. No railway station at Cirencester, but there's a regular bus service from Swindon and Gloucester. Oxford -Swindon-Cirencester is an easy all-bus itinerary.

Yep, looks straightforward enough. Im training from Birmingham and you change at Cheltenham for Kemble and taxi. If you are in Oxford it should be fairly easy.
