The Barn Theatre have announced Rebecca Jayne Davies (Half A Sixpence, Jersey Boys) and Ryan Bennett (Jersey Boys International Tour) will star in a revival production of the musical Daddy Long Legs. Runs from 2 October to 2 November 2019, is directed by Kirstie Davis, with design by Gregor Donnelly and musical direction by Charlie Ingles.
Excited to see what they do! Anyone planning on going?

Thanks for the heads up. I missed seeing this off Broadway and will have to try to fit this in on my trip to London in October. Would you recommend the train from London Paddington as the quickest way to get there and will I be able to get back to London after an evening performance?

It's not possible to get back to London by public transport after an evening performance at Cirencester. No station there.
I'm seeing a weekday matinee of Daddy Long legs in October and have booked travel from London with National Express. Only £9 return. Outward 10.00 am, arrives 12.25, return 18.15 arrives 20.50. I've been to the Barn Theatre before before and those times worked perfectly. Cirencester is a very pleasant Cotswolds town.

For anyone who can get to Cirencester, I highly recommend this charming little musical. Best two-hander I've ever seen and Rebecca Jayne Davies is a sheer delight !

Didn't come across like that at all at The Barn. Would have been different perhaps if the two characters had been of different generations rather than of broadly similar age.

How about all those boys living with Fagin in Oliver ... Henry Higgins training Eliza Dolittle in Pygmalion/My Fair lady ... and as for the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ... We can't change history and there is plenty of behaviour today that would be equally unacceptable to our ancestors.
