Already booked for Birmingham! Seats at the front of the stalls are only £27.50 for some reason, seem a steal.

They are betting on Jac Yarrow being a star! But this rules him out of panto.

They have done something like this for the past few years, touring musical shows. It seems such an odd time to do it.
Too bad they couldn't get any big names this year. And please don't try and convince me they are....

I’ve been to a few of these, they use a local orchestra and they’re usually a very nice evening out.

^A nice little interlude during the holiday period. We did the Leading Ladies one in Brum a few years ago with Kerry Ellis and chums. If memory serves it is Raymond Gubay who produces/promotes a series of concerts every Christmas in different venues.Reasonable prices with a big orchestral backing for the soloists.

Very surprised Jac is in this he did not impress me at all. Hated his vibrato.

That's my Christmas/New Year treat largely sorted. Palladium panto booked on Saturday evening, this show Sunday evening, both front row stalls . £38.50 price is reasonable for the Barbican.
Just hoping now for White Christmas at the Dominion to drop in price a bit ...

Kerry does these every year, I wonder why she isn't this time. I hope she has got something exciting lined up.
By Christmas will people really not be absolutely sick of hearing the Greatest Showman songs though?

it’s usually a selection of favourites from lots of different musicals. I think they’re just jumping on the showman image to generate interest.

Marisha Wallace taking Jac Yarrow’s place on this now that he’s doing the Birmingham Hippodrome panto. Opportunity for a two show day on the Birmingham date I suppose!

Haven’t booked this and I’m certainly not fussed about seeing Jac Yarrow but don’t these people ever sign a contract? He’s still listed in the Bridgewater Hall page and given the success of Joseph I assume he’ll be a draw for some.

Manchester, Birmingham, London .... and Glasgow (30/12).
Ricardo Afonso completes the line-up. Loved him in JCS.

Yes, he's been pulled from this tour (which I think was on the previous page).

This was supremely good at the London Barbican tonight. The line up of songs was all crowd pleasers with only Waving Through A Window from Dear Evan Hansen likely to be unfamiliar to most of the audience (and Ben Forster totally nailed that). Marisha Wallace's performance of And I'm Telling You... drew a well-deserved standing ovation, as did Ben's Gethsemane.
Four of the West End's Finest at the top of their game. My 291st and probably last show of 2019 but straight into my personal top ten.

^We were at the Birmingham Symphony Hall performance and I totally agree...a fantastic performance! All four soloists seemed to be having a terrific time. Everything from Rocky Horror to Chess to Joseph and so on.Excellent show.

I too saw these in Birmingham on Saturday afternoon. We were sat front stalls and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can only endorse how excellent Ben Forster, Marisha Wallace, Sophie Evans and Afonso were even with Afonso having a cold. The London Concert Orchestra too were fantastic.
I did smile though when just before they played songs from Les Mis they asked the audience if they knew what was the longest running show and a lady close by shouted out 'Cats'

I was lucky enough at the Barbican Centre to have the front row seat directly in front of the mic used by the solo performer for each song, and Marisha actually reached across and touched my hand for a brief moment.
Also as we left there was a show programme on the floor which my wife picked up. That's not uncommonn in itself, but this one has been autographed by Marisha, Sophie and Ricardo so I feel a tad guilty but it will be treasured.

I was at the Birmingham show and although I enjoyed it, it was probably the worst show of that type I have seen. I didn't thin k the soloist's voices gelled together when singing with each other. The song choice was pretty random too. A good show , but not great in my opinion. Sophie Evans being particularly weak in my opinion.
