Deserved transfer next Spring for Stef Smith's reimagining bringing us a trio of Noras throughout the ages and her men. Caught it during its recent run in Glasgow and was captivated by both its cleverness and artistry, especially from the actors.
Lovely that Kwame is bringing it to the same Hattie Morahan's brilliant Nora won our hearts a few years ago.

Seating plan now available. How high is the stage usually for a layout like this? Are the front few rows worth going for or is the back better? Thanks

Hugely flexible space, both the stage and the seating can do the hokey cokey. For Salesman (similar to this layout), some of the front row was £10 but I think that was becasue the cast (the boys) ran along there. It'll be decent where ever you choose.
This is one I am really looking forward to ..

I booked a £10 ticket on the front row this morning. I was wondering if there was some kind of catch, like under 30s or something as it seemed weird that they hadn't been bought straight away.

I noticed the same thing. Second row is £10 for under 25s. A majority of the front row for dates does seem to have gone though so I don't think theres a catch. I was just concerned the stage might be higher than normal or these seats were restricted/less comfortable etc. I suppose if its just the front row, its the Young Vics way of making theatre more accessible which is always a great thing. |

Hey People...I actually won and paid for 2 lottery tickets for this for the first preview tonight.
Unfortunately I cannot make it now and I've just called TodayTix and they said I can give the tickets to friends.
I've tried to get rid of them but can't so if anyone wants them shoot me a pm I can forward the email to you so at least the tickets get used.

Very enjoyable. The stage setup is similar to Blood Wedding, I doubt there is a bad seat in the house. We were at the second night, sold out and quite a warm response from the audience at the end. I'm not sure it counts as a spoiler but just in case: {Spoiler - click to view}Having the the three Nora's from the three time periods simultaneously on stage works really well. The story slips comfortably between the times and shows, almost with ease, both how things have changed in 100 years and how things have stayed the same. |

Seeing it later in the month, will be interesting to compare with Wife at the Kiln from last year which had a similar concept only through a different lens.

Thought this was very good. After "Fairview" I half expected them to invite all the men in the audience to come up and stand on the stage at the end  Staged well in the round so any seat should be fine (including the ones marked as "side view"). Front row at the sides might be an issue, as there are chairs on the stage that don't move for most of the show which could be a bit of an obstruction to your view. |

Five minutes from the end a beeping noise started and some of the house lights flickered on. The actors continued for a bit. They were interrupted by an announcement saying that due to matters beyond their control we needed to evacuate. The actors sort of laughed and grimaced. The audience applauded them, then plodded outside. No instructions after that. We hung around for a few minutes and then left. I think I sort of know the play's ending. When I got home there was an email asking how I'd enjoy my trip to the Young Vic.

I was there as well and we did go back in after about 10 minutes and they finished the performance.

Worst thing I've seen so far this year. There was really nothing added by having 3 Nora's other than a few cheap jokes, and somehow they made the plight of the male characters more interesting and engaging than that of Nora. The added ending was really overdone and heavy handed and didn't make too much sense - it seemed to be implying that things are worse than ever, but I saw no real reason why 2018 Nora couldn't just go to Christine like the 1968 one. The whole thing was just quite dull and tedious and I much preferred the version at the Lyric a few months ago.
The only positive I can think of was the music.

Very underwhelmed by this tonight. The adaptation just didn't seem to flow that well for me and if I hadn't read a brief synopsis beforehand, I think I would've been very confused. Its a very ambitious piece and I was looking forward to seeing Amaka Okafor again after seeing The Son but I feel she overwhelmed the piece, suggesting that the writing didn't quite hit the mark. 3* for me.
