Lovely. I hope Jane Asher gets to try out her French accent again.
Or makes the cakes for the interval.

Rather pleased with this. As a big fan of Coward, it only dawned on me recently that this is one his plays that I've had no exposure to. Never seen, nor read it, so will definitely be catching it. Plus it's Callow and Asher, and they're both rather wonderful.

Having seen this in Guildford yesterday, I think it was one of those cases of the production being better than the play itself, which might explain why it is rarely seen. It's also pretty static - the first half in particular seemed slow - with only 4 characters and one set, so little movement in either sense.
Of course it was ideal for the venue: sold out and there were a few cries of "bravo" at the end.
Also, I don't know that I've seen Simon Callow on stage before, or if so, not for some time. I know he was playing an unsympathetic character but I really didn't take to him and would be interested to see another production with a different cast - though I may have a long wait.
