This show certainly isn't for everyone but I adored it.
Caught a matinee performance in NYC last November and of the 8 shows I saw that week, this one stayed with me the most.
Yes, a LOT gets crammed into Act 1 and it could use some trimming. But the better part of Act 2 was some of the most powerful musical theatre I have seen in some time.
I was glad to see that rather than going the normal jukebox musical route ('check your brains at the door and just sit back and be entertained'), it aimed higher and in most cases, hit the bullseye.
Aside from a very strong script and those amazing Alanis Morrisette songs, the direction/choreography was inventive and powerful. I won't give anything away but the staging of "Smiling" in the first act and "Uninvited" in the second were a notch above nearly anything I have seen in the past 10 years (Hamilton being the exception).
I am thrilled to see it announced for the West End and hope they find the right theatre for it.

Saw this tonight. Probably best not to elaborate.
Never thought slime could be so entertaining. Enjoyed but didn't love it. The music is great and will definitely book to see JLP live at first opportunity.

I think that they are saying they watched a recording of it. ‘The kids’ label their bootlegs as ‘slime tutorials’ on you tube so that they don’t immediately trigger a take down from the word bootleg.

He liked it but didn't love it, but enjoyed the music and would like to book to see the real thing live. Got it in one. I thought we mustn't be too specific about these things. I must have watched 100 similar uploads over the last couple of years of shows new to me, bearing in mind I've only been a frequent theatre-goer for the last seven years so there's a lot I haven't seen on stage They vary in quality from unwatchable to near-broadcast. JLP is one of the better ones. Very few seem to get removed, perhaps the rights-holders of current shows see them more as marketing than as revenue-detractors ?

Can't see this going into the Trafalgar Theatre this Autumn ... Jersey Boys has just extended its run until April 2023.

With a November opening announced last February you would think we would have heard something by now about a theatre, casting, etc....
I did notice that 'London' was no longer on the Jagged Little Pill website.
Anyone out there know anything?

The Australian tour was cancelled which makes me think the producers got cold feet about further productions.

I hope you are right and if so, that is very encouraging news. I loved the show in NY but would admit that the first act could use a tweak given how many directions the show goes in, in terms of its content. The second act was some of the most powerful theatre I have seen in some time.
Your news has made my day so I hope you are truly "in the know". :-)

You can’t fix this show. It’s an absolute mess with every possible issue shoe horned in. They should all save their energy and move on to other shows.

Well...that is certainly one opinion but one that I disagree with entirely. Yes, the book could use a bit of untangling but this punter found it daring, highly original and with a second act that leaves most modern musicals in the dust.

I stand corrected.

Your thoughts on Lauren Patton? There we agree.

Check the Les Mis thread for exactly that 😂 it’s what the arts is all about. It’s why I took umbrage the other day for “confirming” something is better than something else. You’ll find people who disagree.

People are so passionate about these two shows and its great to see.
