Delighted that my selected performance in Bristol has been rescheduled to over two years later to June 2022. I am overwhelmingly reassured that I don't need to do anything to sit in the same seat I booked 742 days later than requested. Lunacy. They were only £13 each so I’m not arsed about the money but the lengths that the producers and ATG are going to to keep hold of our cash is hilarious.

I’ve just got the exact same email- seeing as we were going because Rob & Sharon were in it and their contract has now been ended, I’ve emailed back and asked for a refund. Not holding my breath though!

Not holding my breath though! I requested a refund following Mamma Mia being rescheduled for Liverpool - I’ve now had confirmation that it has been processed at their end and the money will be in my account soon. Yes it’s taking a few weeks, but if you request a refund you will get it.

I’m happy enough to let them keep the £13 seeing as if go and book the show in 2022 anyway but quite how I’ll remember I’ve got that booked I don’t know. Seems to me like they’ve just ‘rescheduled’ for the dates the next tour was pencilled in at these venues just to avoid having to refund majority

Mamma Mía is on sale at Opera House Manchester for 2023!
These are the rearranged dates originally scheduled for March 2021.
Surely that has to be a record for how far in advance tickets are on sale!

Odd to hear September, was speaking to a friend in the cast last weekend who said they go back into rehearsal in May... Unless there's been a change this week. Nice to hear it's back out and about though!

Had to refund my tickets for Grease in Belfast which I'm still not convinced will go ahead in October but I've booked this for November 2022 instead. I'm quite excited I have to admit jukebox musicals were never really my thing but I saw The Bodyguard and thought it was fab and I really like the film of Mamma Mia so I'm excited for this.

Tour question here; thoroughly enjoyed it tonight but couldn’t see the whole band from the end of the front row. I could see 3 keys & the drummer but who else was hiding? I remember the overture being partially on a track with the band playing along. It was deafening, I know that.

I remember the overture being partially on a track with the band playing along. It was deafening, I know that. Usually there’s a live bass & guitar but as the whole show is on click tracks they have the ability to use the pre-recorded guitar in place of live if the musicians are off for any reason. It’s pretty standard for shows to get dep musicians in to cover but I know as Mamma Mia is all on click they can use pre-recorded if necessary so that may be what they do on tour in stead of getting a cover musician in.

I remember the overture being partially on a track with the band playing along. It was deafening, I know that. I was sat at presumably the other end of the front row a few nights ago for this and there was a guitar and bass guitar at that end. It certainly was deafeningly loud.

We were at the Bristol Hippodrome matinee on Thursday. I think Sophie was among the understudies, anyone know who was in the role? She looked and sung a bit Kylie-ish. Thought she was great.
The £13 front row price promise seats at Bristol were a steal as the look up wasn't that great. There can be two further rows of seats at the front there, with much higher prices and a much sharper look up.

Another way of grabbing cheap tickets if you don’t mind sitting apart is usually the week before a show Bristol Hipp will reduce the single seats including seats in top price areas to £13-£25 depending on the show.

Another one in the front row at Bristol this week. An absolute steal for £13 and a superb show. A real pick-me-up that my dad and I needed at the moment during a stressful house purchase!

I can't see a separate thread for the 2024-2025 international tour, but fantastic to see that "the girl who ran down the road", Steph Parry, is starring as Donna. Lots of other names I like in that cast. This is largely in other European countries until late 2025, but I'll definitely try and catch one of the limited UK dates late next year. If anyone does get to see the tour cast before then, please report back.

If anyone does get to see the tour cast before then, please report back. Happened to be in the south of France while they are in Monaco and tickets were cheap (€45!) so I popped along. The show is possibly the best I’ve seen it? (Which admittedly isn’t hundreds of times but I’d say I’ve probably seen it ten times over the years just for the pure fact it’s been open a long time?) I think it comes from having a cast who are so committed to the acting and properly telling the story. Vocally they’re all great still (the Sophie has an amazing amazing voice!) but it’s really acting-wise that sets this cast apart. A really nice surprise for this show where that hasn’t always been the case!

I've already booked a weekday matinee in Bristol and Oxford for late 2025 to get the front row seat I want at each venue. Cheap at Bristol due to high stage, Oxford has no restriction and extra legroom.
(Saw the new Sophie and Sky at the Novello last Thursday afternoon, all good and theatre 90% full. The senior matinee price certainly incentivises me to go every few months. The ultimate feelgood musical!)
