Has anybody else been to see this? I decided to bite the bullet and see it in Coventry last night. I wasn't expecting great things based on the reviews here but as it's a musical I knew absolutely nothing about, I went in with as blank a slate as possible and I actually quite enjoyed it! Yes it's twee and quaint and dated and not massively memorable but I've seen far, far worse. I didn't leave at the interval and I usually do if I can't take any more. I found I was smiling and my feet were tapping along. The cast do a good job (Wendi Peters now apparently only does shows where she's in 10 minutes of each act). Averagely enjoyable harmless fluff I'd say 😀

Smaller furniture was just brought on and off as needed. It was a shame to see the theatre so empty though (barely a third full I'd say and the circle was closed. The woman next to me said she'd never seen it so empty.

After watching the final night tonight at Salford’s Lowry theatre, all I can say is that this is a completely bonkers musical. I thought the cast where great and Wendi Peters gave a great comic turn as various characters, but the whole thing was just wierd, particularly the ending. It was definitely theatrical fluff and something that didn’t require any intellectual thought whatsoever.
The musical score while fun (especially the act 2 number Sand in my eyes) twas something I wouldn’t want to listen to again.
Overall, a fun night out, but a musical I probably wouldn’t watch again if it ever got revived in the future.
