Anyone else see the brand new rep company in Liverpool yet? I would love to know what others thought?

My parents saw it last Saturday and were full of praise about it. Apparently it is pretty much sold out for the run. Performances were first class and vocals fantastic.

I would love to see it. From the reviews it sounds like it has a great earthy quality to it. This I feel may be missing from the up and coming Chichester production

Saw this on Friday, and enjoyed it. The first act is better than the second, but I think that that is just the nature of the story really. It was well cast and well staged. The actors used all the space, but at times i did struggle to hear some of them when their backs were turned to my section of the audience. There were some excellent performances, and there were no weak links in the cast. There is a good balance between the older, more experienced actors, and the younger ones. I wouldn't say that the vocals were fantastic, but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the musical. It will be interesting to see what the other plays will be like.

I thought the show felt painfully long and had some really bad singing in it. I understand as a rep you have to cast actors across the entire season but I felt it was too ambitious for their first show. Mixed abilities, sound issues and I'm sorry to say I was bored. I thought it might have been the show, but I saw fiddler ten years ago on Broadway and I thought that production was beautiful. Still a great attempt from the Liverpool Everyman. I'm excited to see more from them.
