I've noticed a couple; Avenue Q changed the line in It Sucks To Be Me where Christmas Eve worked from a Korean Deli to a Chinese restaurant, I believe. And a couple of changes in the currently running Last 5 Years (changes from the film at least), in A Summer in Ohio, the Target has been changed (to a Borders if memory serves) and weirdly they changed the casting of Russell Crowe to David Hasselhoff in Climbing Uphill.

They used to regularly change certain lines when shows were playing in Australia to suit that audience however for the life of me I can't remember specific examples.

Those Last 5 Years changes aren't regional variations as such, the Borders one at least is just the original lyric (and I think it was Linda Blair before it was Crowe or Hasselhoff).

I wasn't aware of the Linda Blair lyric, I assume that's the one and the same who was in The Exorcist? What musical was she in?

Starlight Express has different trains depending on location Yeah Bochum doesn't have the British train does it? Probably because our trains are so unremarkable internationally.

I imagine Samantha Barks wouldn't have been too keen on having to publicly diss her Les Mis castmate if they had kept Russell Crowe in.

Last year I saw a german production of "Tell me on a Sunday" that transformed the girl into a syrian refugee by basically rewriting 70% of the original translation. Needless to say, it didn't work at all.
