Wow that's a toughie. I think my top 5 l, without sitting for hours to pick would be. 1. Burn - Hamilton 2. The movie in my mind - Miss Saigon 3. Do you hear the people sing - Les Mis 4. For good - Wicked 5. A musical - Something Rotten.
Maybe, unless I want Lady's Maid from Titanic in. Maybe I need top 50 that's more doable haha.

Far too difficult! Off the top of my head:
1. The School Song, Matilda - Hands down the cleverest song I've ever heard 2. No-one is alone, Into the Woods - Amazing lyrics and melody 3. Tomorrow belongs to me, Cabaret - Such an effective, haunting song. 4. You and me (but mostly me), The Book of Mormon - Couldn't pick a favourite Wicked song so went for this instead 5. Right hand man, Something Rotten - I can't stop listening to this. I can't believe some people think that show is nothing more than slapstick.

In no particular order (as I couldn't possibly do that!)
Defying Gravity - Wicked One Day More - Les Miserables As If We Never Said Goodbye - Sunset Boulevard I'll Be Here - Ordinary Days I'm Here - The Color Purple
(this will be different tomorrow but these are my current 5)

Based on songs that I stop and listen to whenever I hear them:
1. Something Wonderful - The King and I 2. You're Nothing Without Me (City of Angels) or School Song (Matilda) 3. At the Ballet - Chorus Line (actually I'd just like to list the montage - even though the OBCR has this as a separate individual song) 4. The Impossible Dream - Man of La Mancha 5. Wheels of a Dream - Ragtime

You reminded me... At The Ballet! Such a beautiful piece, the whole montage, and the spoken words over the music.

This is a near-impossible question - my answer would probably change daily/depending on my mood. Without too much thought though (and limiting myself to only picking one song from any show):
1. Don't Rain on My Parade (Funny Girl) - I struggled to choose which song I would have from this show, but for sheer power this just edges it over People.
2. Memphis Lives in Me (Memphis) - possibly my favourite ending to a show ever.
3. Anthem (Chess) - never fails to make me emotional!
4. At the Ballet (A Chorus Line) - less powerhouse, but if done well I find this song really poignant.
5. I'm Here (The Color Purple) - sung as Cynthia does it on Broadway, there is hardly anything better in musical theatre.
Edit: Argh I ran out of room to add Stars from Les Mis!

Right now and in no particular order:
1- Gimme gimme (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
2- Turn it off (The Book of Mormon)
3- The opening ballad (Sweeney Todd)
4- What I did for love (A Chorus Line)
5- Paciencia y fe (In the Heights)
