Forgot to mention - Adeel Akhtar at The Other Place last week, gathered a lot of people around him to talk to. Also John Heffernan, but I seemed to be the one who spotted him, sitting quietly in the corner with a book. Very animated and passionate to chat all things theatre, as always. Looks like he's doing his best to see midweek matinees as the only way to catch current productions runing along with The Lehman Trilogy.

I think the whole Broadway-debacle really dented his confidence. What was the debacle? Rob's play 'My son's a queer (but what can you do)' was doing very well in UK, so some producers decided to bring it to Broadway. Rob was obviously very excited, it was well-documented on their social media. Theatre was booked and everything, Rob booked their flights, was so much looking forward to it and so grateful for the opportunity. Literally a day or so before Rob was due to fly to New York, the producers pulled the plug without any warning. Really got to Rob.

Robert Peston at Oedipus tonight and I saw Ben Miles down from the outside steps at the Wyndham so I am assuming he was there also.

Too many people shagging their mother in London for me to keep track - or maybe he was going to the Old Vic version and was just a bit early!
