If the rumours are to be believed, Jamie Lloyd is not done. He’s “reimagining” another classic musical next year. Late 2024. Had heard this has been reimagined, but not Jamie Lloyd…

I have seen Elliot and Harper productions attached to Sweet Charity workshops.JL was allegedly eyeing Broadway with Ariana Debose.

Sweet Charity was only done 4 years ago at the Donmar and wasn't exactly a success.

I really enjoyed the Royal Exchange production with Kaisa Hammarlund. Donmar not so much. Would be a case of waiting to see the cast.

I know a production has been in the works for a couple of years now, but it isn't with Jamie Lloyd

It can't be much more radically reimagined than having a musical led by an actor who simply can't sing.

And the tin foil industry has been in overdrive to build up stock levels ever since.

This made me remember that dreadful Donmar production- and for that I am very annoyed.

I'm still having therapy for it!For the first time at the Donmar I was glad I was behind a pillar. One word - ballpool! TERRIBLE!!! I always felt that Tamsin Outhwaite never got the praise she deserved as Charity. I loved her in that role and felt she should have won the Olivier for it. I’m not even sure if she was nominated?!

I agree, not a massive fan of the show but that production was very good and Tamsin especially was excellent

She wouldn't have been nominated when it was at the Menier but it then transferred to the Haymarket so not sure if she was eligible then. I really liked that production that also had great performances from Mark Umbers, Josafina Gabrielle and Tiffany Graves.

He was always glorious It was a good year for leading actresses that year (Sheridan, Sierra, Emma Williams and Elena Roger - Sheridan winning for Legally Blonde) Josefina Gabrielle was nominated in the supporting actress category. I miss Mark Umbers too! Fabulous in Merrily and She Loves Me at the Menier
