And there was me thinking having the SpongeBob Musical in the Palladium was going to be such a great idea!
I remember seeing a Scooby Doo live show in Birmingham 2005, then ended up seeing it again in 2007. I wonder if it's the same one?

Hard to believe that this franchise is almost 50 years old. It's definetly still appeals to kids today given the various TV series and DTVs

I assume thIs will appeal to you Daniel and you already have tickets? Fred has blonde hair. Ahahaa whilst I was a fan of Scooby Doo as a child, nope, not my cup of tea I don't think  but it may be someone on here's cup of tea, especially if they have kids.
And watch the actual video, Vincent does have a blonde wig on at the beginning, leading to my comment about him having the Fred Hair and the Shaggy Outfit.

It reminds me of the shows you get at theme parks, but mot a good theme park like Disney, but one of the ones with "fun" in it's name and and a clientele of weekend dad's and local chavs.

I'm pretty sure that's what this is? It's clearly a production for children that's more about throwing a recognisable brand on the stage than creating a critically impressive piece of theatre. I get them at my local theatre all the time, and they're always popping up during school holidays. If anyone's expecting more than a slightly cringey recreation of the cartoon on stage, then they're in for one heckua disappointment (though judging by some of these I've seen before, if you're expecting a slightly cringey recreation of the cartoon on stage, then you could be about to have a very good morning indeed).

The earliest Scooby Doo cartoons always had a song in the obligatory chase sequence in the middle. A bit like The Monkees.

In four days, it is playing 12 performances and runs at 1hr 25mins inc. a 20 minute interval. Jeez, that's a whole lot of performances for just 4 days, though I suppose it is pretty much just an hour a show. Will be interesting to see if all the shows sell?

It sounds quite a lot, but it's only 3 shows a day, so same as some panto's and a Saturday on tour with Joseph!! And with each show at just under an hour and a half, it's considerably less strenuous than a panto/fully-blown musical, so it'll be more than feasible for the actors and there shouldn't be a problem for audience turn-around either. 10.30am, 1pm and 3.30pm - so an hour rest for the actors and to change audiences over. Bit like live performances at a theme park!
Though I also wonder how well it'll sell!! |
