Went to see this at a Picturehouse Members' free screening yesterday. I knew very little about it and have never read a Judy Blume book. It's an uncomplicatedly enjoyable coming of age movie with some very good performances - Kathy Bates is having a ball. For theatre fans there is also an atmospheric trip to see Pirates of Penzance at the Central Park Open Air theatre and a trip to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. The details of 1970s New York and New Jersey life have been lovingly rendered. For what it's worth the Guardian gave it a five star review.

I saw this yesterday and also really enjoyed it. I remember the book being around in the 90s, but don't know whether I read it or not. I didn't know what to expect though, but it was good fun.

I caught the 10 May preview having never previously heard of the book. It's refreshing to have a coming-of-age story centred around the female experience, and the story held my interest, but it squandered the opportunity to do anything unexpected or particularly insightful. It's all undemanding, three-star fare.

Went yesterday following the cancellation of my matinee (secret life of bees) and thoroughly enjoyed. A very easy watch with quite a lot of laughs along the way.

I saw this with a friend who has a 6 yo daughter and we both liked it a lot! I really like the portrayal of Margaret's mum. And the dad was a sweetheart.
