Has anyone seen this
I was so underwhelmed this evening
Almost asked for my money back
Big pile of pretentious sh*t
Just shows you
In NY it was a sensation
One hour watching a sweaty out of shape balding man with no top on chatting sh*t
And flashing lights
Abysmal

Thank you for your post because it prompted me to visit the LIFT page and read the linked reviews.
The reviewers were all steeped in experimental theatre and Andrew Schneider's work.
I think it's sometimes hard to see a show in isolation, even in a festival.
LIFT is amazing, though it's a shame it's still necessary.
Theatres should be regularly showing such work.
In an ideal world.

This seems the appropriate thread to record seeing tonight Mercurial George, the new solo production of dance artist Dana Michel on its tour of its co-producing theatres in Montreal, Paris, Cardiff, Vienna and Berlin, with an extra stop in Barcelona. Did I comprehend it? No, hardly at all. Was I fascinated by it? Yes, throughout, at every moment. These shows are so detailed with their movement, props and materials, light, sound and occasional text, and they put most theatre into the shade. I will remember tonight.
