I totally get that Andy's medical range may seem unusual by normal standards, but he is the only doctor Jude trusts and with whom he has history. I found that made his treatment of Jude more plausible.

It’s understandable that Jude would have trust issues and a preferred doctor, but the range of treatments administered by 1 doctor was just implausible. Theatrically, it would have made perfect sense if the actor just played a range of doctors, similar to Cowan playing three different abusers. |

Theatrically, it would have made perfect sense if the actor just played a range of doctors, similar to Cowan playing three different abusers. Yeah I agree, this was sadly totally unbelievable. I mean it was thus all the way through, but then when he announced he was gonna do the leg operation it crossed a line for me and became impossible to "go with it/suspend disbelief" any longer. Up until then I was kinda was he an emergency medicine with interest in psychiatry doctor who moved to anaesthetics and then developed an interest in chronic pain and the physiological and psychological facets thereof. But complex leg surgery? Errrrr, no! He made GP extraordinaire Karl Kennedy look positively specialised! |

I kind of just brushed past the doctor. Cowes was very different in all three roles despite portraying the spectre of abuse. The doctor I just went: sure, and didn't 5hibk anymore about it.

Maybe I am confusing how the book treats Dr. Andy as opposed to the play because in the book he is clearly an orthopedic surgeon and they are "devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles." He essentially goes beyond that to act as Jude's GP because of the trust.

The issue in the book is that he doesn't pass him on to a psychiatrist. Which he needs.

Currently in the interval, had a show stop due to an medical emergency in the dress circle. But so far enjoying the show.

Any.kre news on any possible transfer. I would have thought they would announce before they close.

I was there last night - no show stop. I had an on stage ticket and have to say the audience around me were exemplary (that sounds a bit like a school report!)
The whole handling of the behind the stage experience was really well done by the Savoy staff. It's incredibly well executed and they are very friendly and professional.

You don’t usually hear any reports of show stops or the odd one. But there has definitely been more than average for this. I nearly fainted once at the Globe. Think it was th heat. I just sat on the ground until I felt better and literally no one even blinked. Can’t even remember the play. No shoe stop night ai saw it either. |

I understand bag checks may be more thorough, but I like to take something for the interval without the high prices!

You can take food and drink in but you're not allowed to eat while on the stage, people do drink though. You have to go back into the bar during the interval so that gives you time if you want to eat. Hope that helps :-) |

Norton is far more open. The person should have pumped him. But given the merchandise, the play published with them on the front I would think they may always had strong aspirations on that front. |

It’d be daft not to take it to Broadway surely? After the success of London both in terms of box office and audience/critical acclaim, a limited run there would be bound to sell well - especially if they can take the same cast over.

There was a show stop last night too, so both shows yesterday! There was a bit of commotion in the stalls and James, nathalie and zubin must have clocked it cos they paused and then the stage manager came on to usher them off before announcing there was someone needing assistance. It was all dealt with very well and the actors came back on and picked up as if nothing had happened.

Probably really used to it at this stage.
If I was betting, if I was definitely the financer, I would be looking at April or end of March to end of June or early July. Which nicely gets in for Tony contention and ensures they be in UK to show up at Oliviers because surely they are looking at awards.
Also critical response was mixed as to the play but superlative for the acting. Also while people here seem to have taken to it, the American audience will be different. And they didn't seem to like th Dutch version. Never underestimate the power of a buzz though and the play has that.
Also Bridgerton films for around eight months but if four isn't Luke's season to lead then he won't have to be there for all of that. Also J. Bailey was filming in America while also doing Season 3. I think a lot of the actors may begin to drop out after their series. J. Bailey is different as he is now head of the family.

Saw this again last night and wow the acting is still superb - especially James Norton, Zubin Varla, Luke Thompson and Elliot Cowan. I last saw this during previews at the Pinter and it felt very slightly different, I don't know if there were some blocking changes/cut lines or what, but it felt shorter? Or maybe that's me now knowing what was coming idk. I downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 4 because I think on second viewing the material is actually not as good as I remembered (possibly the shock of the material first time round made it feel very wow), but if there are plentiful Olivier noms for the acting, I will be very surprised.

I was there last night too, it was my last visit. There are always tiny things that are different each time but last night Willem came rushing in and said 'happy birthday! Just kidding, congratulations!' when Jude got adopted. First time I've seen that so not sure if it was a mistake well covered or on purpose.
They had their wrap party last night - I think it's the only time they haven't had a stage door!

He, or somebody, definitely raced on stage and said that line the night I saw it. I thought it was an odd one too. Maybe he has a variety of lines he says at that point and no one knows which one he will use. If I remember there is no response.
