In his defence, he's not had a chance to see In The Heights over here!
He's frequently said how much he'd like to work abroad and Hamilton, even for a limited run is the perfect opportunity for that.

Just popped onto the Hamilton website, and it's now got a note from producer Jeffrey Seller saying that new tickets will be going on sale soon, and warning people away from fraudulent dealers and rip-off merchants. In its own special way, I suppose a massively popular show that constantly sells out must be a little bit of a burden.

Has anyone tried the online lottery in NY ? I'm visiting soon and thought I'd give it a go, but whenever I go on the website it seems to say the lottery is not available. I know they had some issues with the site crashing, have they abandoned it?

I think they tried the online lottery but the system crashed because thousands of people tried to enter. They are back to doing the regular lottery at the theatre until further notice.

Yep, there was an internet-shattering demand for the online lottery so they've taken it back offline until further notice. twitter.com/hamiltonmusical is probably one of your best sources for finding out when they get the online thing working properly.

The lottery is happening in person at the theatre still, the only one day they did it online they had 50k entries!
There's hundreds of people at the lottery, if you have the time and the money for a full price ticket I would reccomend the returns queue. I stood in like for 4 hours on a Sunday and got a centre stalls row H seat for $169. I think the line starts pretty early in the morning these days but is worth the wait if you are at or near the front of the queue!

Thanks but I haven't the time or the $$$ for that ( I'm there with work so need to put in some time there!) I'll maybe try the in person lottery. Wish me luck!

I've done the lotto three or four times and I knew it was only a matter of time before someone got flattened by a car.

I fear by the time this eventually gets here, I'll be vomiting at the near mention of it.
Broadwayworld may aswell rename itself Hamilton.com.. So obsessed is it with reporting every pointless bit of none sense about the shows.
Maybe today they'll report on the theatres loos being cleaned, and some mail being delivered to the stage door.
Enough already!

Oh goody, I'll (hopefully) be able to give it a try next week.
Sorry, Mr B, I'll try not to go on about it.

I know. As if a show ever needed LESS publicity, and yet every day it gets 10 news articles on those websites. I'm going to try the cancellation line when I'm there in May. What time should I get there? 4? 5?.... Gonna be a long day that's for sure.

Got a ticket for December. Feel robbed at $350 dollars. Wasn't even a great seat. Premium seats now at $549 dollars plus fees.

I feel like the momentum of this show has just taken over it. I've listened to the album and no, rap isn't my thing but even if it was is it really the best musical ever made? People are certainly acting like it is

How would you determine the best musical ever anyway? I agree that people are getting extremely carried away, but even if we do manage to determine criteria and can conclusively prove that it's not quite up there with West Side Story or Sweeney Todd, it's still a very good show in terms of inventive lyrics, hummable tunes, recurring motifs, choreography, lighting, performances, etc. Tbh, there are so many new musicals and so many just sink without a trace that it is extremely possible for a show to simultaneously be "THE BEST SHOW IN YEARS" and "well, it's okay, but it's flawed too". The hype is doing wonders for it on Broadway; only time will tell if the hype floats it or sinks it when it comes to London.
