Allow me to refer people back to an earlier post of mine, though maybe read "SeeTickets" instead of "LoveTheatre.com". By LoveTheatre.com though, surely a waitlist doesn't mean something's definitely happening until it comes directly from the producer? I mean, I'm not doubting that Hamilton's on its way, I just don't see the existence of this waitlist as a concrete anything. When it comes, we'll know, whether we've given our details to a ticket seller who's hoping that they'll be the ones who get to profit from our eagerness rather than any other seller or not. |

Only other musicals to win the Pulitzer in recent memory are Next to Normal and Rent right?
Also Baz tweeted congratulations saying it was going to the Victoria Palace... Is that him confirming its going there do we think?

The VP isn't the only theatre they're looking at though. It's the obvious choice, given the renovations and Cameron's involvement, but I don't think anything is confirmed just yet.

In the Heights and Fun Home were both finalists but didn't win their respective years. Basically, musicals win the Drama prize roughly about once a decade. Do you have the link to the Baz tweet? |

Least surprising theatrical news of the year, but still #yayHamlet as the kids are saying.  My (well documented on this board!) nerdy/academic interest extends to the Pulitzer prize in drama and the musical awards. It's a total of nine as said above we've had about one a decade (in reverse order) Next to Normal, Rent, A Chorus Line, Sunday, How to Succeed, Fiorello! South Pacific, Of Thee I sing. It's worth noting as well that for plays/musicals it's the playwright that wins though the production as a whole is obviously considered, but there was previously some controversy when they didn't recognise composers for the musical awards (because it is in essence a literary prize) which is obviously not an issue when the composer/lyricist is the same person. The trend has been particularly recently for a combination of boundary pushing subject matter and the innovative approach to staging/writing. But it's also fascinating to look at alongside what they previously award to plays particularly as the Pulitzer isn't awarded every year no matter what, if they find nothing they want to award then there's no award. All a really interesting dynamic (well if you're me) |

For anyone who was waiting the Hamilton the revolution book is back in stock on Amazon. I'm still in 2 minds about this one it looks good but I really don't need any more 'coffee table' books.

It's a really beautiful, informative and entertaining book. It's not huge and would fit on a normal bookshelf alongside other hardbacks without looking out of place. I'm really enjoying Lin talking about narrative decisions vs historical accuracy. |

I bought the book at the Drama Book Shop the other day. It really is beautiful. I was half tempted to get it signed by Lin yesterday (he did an in store signing) but looking at Twitter the line was HUGE and I didn't want to spent precious NYC time in a long queue.

Is this an (almost) definite to come over to London (whether it's the VP or not)? Trying to decide whether its worth spending a day (or two!) of an upcoming NY trip in the returns queue (as well as trying the lottery)!
