I guess they just blew their entire marketing budget on Whatsonstage and this is all they got for content until we have self-indulgent sitzprobe videos. The constant drip feed of casting announcements from shows drives me bonkers. Just announce the cast already. Don't say you'll announce 'something' at 13 o'clock on the 100th of the month. Don't then only announce one name and follow it up with another name or two a few days/weeks/centuries later. This 'ooh we have something to announce but not YET' shows do lately is maddening. Right, glad I've got that off my chest. As you were.

*Check back here tomorrow at 11am where the casting of Margaret Johnson is revealed* From WoS Looks like Liz Truss will be busy so are we ready for Rishi's Margaret ? Elena Shadow - can’t say i’m familiar with her but she does seem to have a long string of credits. not sure if it’s enough of a name to draw me in just yet - despite loving the score. IIRC she was rather good in a so-so production of Showboat (with awful acoustics) at the RAH around 15 years ago. I'm finding the choices of some of these 'in concert' shows a little odd at the moment. Chess, Gypsy, and Sunset have all been done this way in the last couple of years despite the fact that they have all recently been revived, same with this show. The only one I can think of that really was overdue was Night Music at Holland Park.

Man even though this is one of my favourite shows I wasn't sure I'd bother with seeing this but Amara just might be enough to sway me...

Amara just made the decision for me... I went for one of the cheap slip seats, because I'm not paying those ridiculous prices for the stalls seats. At least it's only a short bus ride for me.

Also went for a slip seat, it seems like the best deal we will get.

So the slips are the best seats in that price band then? I've never been to this venue so don't know what's good.

So the slips are the best seats in that price band then? I've never been to this venue so don't know what's good. Other seats in that price band are in the back of the circle, and the circle in that theatre is a really long way from the stage. The slips are at the same level from the first rows of the circle, but closer to the stage. Obviously they have a side view, but I usually don't mind that in concert productions, as the actors tend to be center stage.

Now Amara has been announced - consider me interested in this. Exactly this! They missed a trick by not announcing all three together. Why they thought this unknown American would get people interested is beyond me. Whereas Amara and JLG are great casting choices and they’re Brits. New young producers wanting to push American/Broadway performers over here for their concerts really grinds my gears. Support the homegrown talent we already have!

While she might not be a homegrown talent, Elena played Clara on the original tour and has a history with the show.

Less than 3 weeks to go and still about half unsold. I do want to see this but not prepared to pay £133.50 for a front stalls seat. Hopefully there will be some discounting (or better...) soon.
Otherwise I'll be booking a £29.00 seat on the day in the Circle if any remain.

Alex Parker is notorious for not reducing prices I'm afraid.

Shame, I'd quite like to go but a 'quite like' doesn't get me to part with the kind of money they're asking. Would be a shame to leave seats unsold rather than chuck an offer out!

I've been checking the website and my emails regularly. No seat filling promotions, no last minute rush of bookings but, as predicted by Being Alive, no price reductions so I'm out. You Tube beckons... Wishing everyone going tonight a great evening, hopefully the people in the "cheap seats" will be allowed to move to fill the centre stalls which is currently(14.30) about two thirds empty.

I don’t know but if he couldn’t say what the factor is, he shouldn’t have mentioned the existence of this “other factor” at all! That second tweet just screams “look at me I know more than everyone else hahaha”.
