Ooh that is interesting, thank you Dawnstar. The Mischief cast members, especially those who've done all three of TPTGW, PPGW and TCAABR are incredibly versatile, it's a wonder a lot of them can remember which role they're meant to be playing at any one time  |

I see that this is downsizing in New York and moving into New World Stages. I guess they need a long runner to replace Avenue Q (although both shows, plus Jersey Boys will all be running there for a while).

Haven't seen an official notice of this from Nimax, but I got a mailing from ENTS24 that mentioned this was reopening, and the Nimax site is selling tickets for performances from 20th October. On a related note Magic Goes Wrong is on sale from 17th November. Not sure if this is a new development or if those dates were always on sale?

I think they are both re-opening on those dates as part of Nimax's phased return. I think Kenny Wax and Nica Burns mentioned TPTGW on the piece they did the other day on BBC Breakfast.

Having not seen before as on my list of always there and will get round to it, have booked a visit for early Dec.
Not sure how the distancing will work as no single seats on the night I wanted on the Nimax site so chose one in a group and as of now I am sitting next to a stranger.

I wasn't. However my top question for TPTGW right now would be what they're going to do about the pre-show when they re-open. I'm guessing that cast members mingling with the audience in the foyers & having an audience member up on stage may well not be allowed. Not that it makes any difference to me, as it's not as if I'll be able to go & see it.

I know there are regulars here. Can I ask you for spoilers, please?
This is the only show out of hundreds I've seen in my life that I've ever left from during the interval. Original cast too.
I enjoyed Mischief Film Night. The Goes Wrong Show is hit and miss, but that's TV.
I think I was having a bad day, but I'd also seen a gunshot warning. That's a bit of a trigger for me.
How many gunshots are there and are they well telegraphed? Are they live gunshots or prerecorded?
I know people will read this and think me mad, but I'm just at edge around guns. It's irrational. I know they're not real. I'm fine if I know exactly when to expect a loud noise and there aren't too many of them. But otherwise I just can't enjoy the show.

There's one live gunshot near the end of Act 2. It's very well signposted since not only has the character been waving the gun around for several minutes but the gun fails to fire & he shouts "Bang" just before it actually does go off.
Incidentally, if anyone is seeing this soon after it re-opens I'd be very interested to hear what is done about the pre-show. I'm assuming that cast members running around the theatre talking to the audience & an audience member coming up on stage will not be allowed so I'd like to know if they do anything else instead or if they just cut the pre-show out & start with Chris Bean's speech.

Email about our tickets for this Thursday out pretty quick off the mark. Refund or reschedule (you pick 3 dates post 18/01) and anyone who reschedules is promised a "free seat upgrade to the next price level".
We'd have taken the exchange anyway so picked some random dates end of January.

Got last minute tickets for tonight and thoroughly enjoyed. Just what was needed after feeling miserable about missing the Panto on Thursday.

Saw it on Saturday for the first time, maybe not the most profound thing you will see, the gags are signposted miles in advance but sometimes silly is all you need.
Fun is in short supply at the moment and an afternoon of farcical laughter was a welcome break from the seriousness we are currently drowning in.

Actors forgot their lines, all the props broke, I'm surprised it got on the stage. Honestly, The Play That Goes Wrong was one of the most enjoyable nights I've ever had at the theatre. I laughed until I ached and ever since have adored everything that Mischief Theatre have put out. |

Thought I'd treat myself and see this again on Saturday.
Absolutely glorious.
I've seen this twice before but it feels as fresh as when I first saw it thanks to the talented cast. The timing, the reactions, everything was spot on. And there were some understudies on as well including Jack Michael Stacey as Max and Tom Bulpett as Chris and Oliver Clayton as Jonathan.
And despite the restricted numbers the audience was roaring with laughter.
It dawned on my how much of a journey you go on with those characters as the audience yearns them on to their doom.
Forget dreary Under Milk Wood. Forget Cinderella with its moving seats. Forget Les Mis with a cast that's too young for some of the parts.
Theatre is alive and kicking over at the Duchess Theatre!
