Really disappointing selection of seats available for £10 this year. My queue number was in the low hundreds so I got in after 10 minutes. Most of the stalls and stage stalls were still showing as full price. Managed to get some £10 seats in the dress circle, but only those mostly behind pillars with rail in eyeline or on the sides were £10. Previous years it seemed that pretty much the whole auditorium was £10, and I've managed to get amazing stalls and on stage seats (including the little individual row right in the middle of the stage) in the past, but those are all £70+ today.

I got some. I wanted four together and initially couldn't find that but suddenly some popped up in the stalls - I guess someone found some better ones and released these from their basket. I then had an extended period of time where I kept trying to add them to my basket but repeatedly got the message that there was a problem connecting to the box office. Was close to giving up but suddenly it worked. I'm usually a bit of a stickler for nothing Christmassy before December but for this I will make an exception!

Well done jek - I think they release tickets throughout the process to enable people further down the queue to get a good choice too. I found the selection on offer pretty poor but I was nearly 2000th in the queue. It is what it is, a first-come first-served lottery. Well done to all who got decent seats - there are plenty of Baylis seats at £10 still, so there are still bargains to be had.

Well, there are still 3,000 people in front of me. I may wait for the January discounts instead 😂

Thank you ceebee. I saw it with Stephen Tompkinson and then with Paterson Joseph but haven't seen the more recent incarnations. So it will be a real family treat.

Just the odd single £10 seat available in the Baylis Circle across all dates. I had such a bad view up there last time that I’m going to give it a miss unless any more get released!

I saw that there were 5000 pwc seats but today only 2500 went on sale. I think a second wave will be announced as a "flash sale" like last year.

I got in at 15:45 by which time there were, of course, no £10 tickets available.

I didn’t realise the queue would be so slow! Luckily managed to keep my phone on my desk after lunch and by about 2pm had A1 in the circle. Usually nearly £70 so can be too bad.

Soo for this show better are dress c ( end of row A /B, Wonder about behind pillar as well.) or just take C/D price one in stalls. Or just add max 30 pound in my case to fancy full price on

Your head will be level with the stage, so expect to look upwards. Next best seats are front row dress circle either head on or side on. After that try stage seating sides or stage stalls. Stalls head-on are overpriced; Baylis feels too far away (though you get some interaction in the second half). If you'd like to run your seat choices past me I'll advise on the best, bearing in mind your height too. My youngest was shorter than 5' when she first saw this show from the side stalls and it was perfect for her. Great choice of show BTW - it's a joyous tale of redemption and is now an OV tradition.

I would like pay more but christmas nostalgia made me bought hrry potter tic & we all know their price friends i will go also have 65 pound budget L81 every single time. Perfect view (forget restricted view/safety rail guidance). Perfect seat for close up stage action plus second half shenanigans. Buy it! Of the rest, I'd go B9 Dress Circle, but if you can get L81 then you're winning big time. A truly great seat.

Am hoping some more £10 preview tickets get released like this time last year. But I realise the Old Vic aren't obligated to do this every year

Well this video just got me. Enjoy. I’m actually surprised that in the 7 years this has been running, they haven’t released a cast album of the carols and music. I reckon it would actually sell pretty well!

Serious goosebumps. I've seen this every year, I couldn't imagine not going to see this now - it's such a joy. I'm there Saturday night too ...

I've missed the last few but Christopher Eccleston as Scrooge is tempting me to book again.

I reckon it would actually sell pretty well! And it's interesting that this promo is with last year's cast... Somewhere in the depths of the Old Vic, there's a decent recording of this show...

Did somebody say Saturday night?? Hell yeah, I'm there. I wouldn't miss opening preview for anything. Never forget Owen Teale's growling "I am a great man do you hear? A great man" at last year's opener. It shook the building. Loved it. It's a two show Saturday for me - just need to worl out the afternoon show!

Sorry for the stupid question, but is this the same production every year (as in the exact same script), just with different actors? As I wasn't that keen on it when I saw it last year!
