Iloved "Bombay Dreams". Saw it twice. I would of loved to see "Billy" with Michael Crawford. Saw “Billy” quite a few times. One of my favourite musicals ever. Michael Crawford was brilliant. Wished I had seen the original Starlight Express. |

Just a little aside, my parents aren't really big theatre goers, only going because of me and now that I'm here, they may occasionally go.
However when they were here visiting I took then to see Blood Brothers. To this day my father still raves about it and will tell anyone who'll listen about it and that was several years ago.

I’ve been lucky enough to see so many including lots of the ones mentioned on here. The one that sticks in my mind is the NT production of Anything Goes at Drury Lane. I wanted to see that and my wife wanted Bombay Dreams. We tossed a count and she won!

Billy must have been huge in its day to run in Drury Lane for two years. Is it badly dated or is there any other reason it doesn't get revived?

I saw Bombay Dreams, I didn't particularly care for it at all. I can just about remember 1 line from 2 songs.
I really wish I had seen the off west end In The Heights, so if anyone wants to revive that it would be great.
Also, I am a massive Elvis fan and I went to New York the first time about 20 years ago to see 1-2 shows a day for 10 days and I had booked All Shook Up, but it had closed by the time my holiday came around and I was GUTTED.

I regret not seeing the Tommy Tune production of Grand Hotel which played London for less than three months, and the Hal Prince Kiss of the Spiderwoman before it went to Broadway.

I guess it's sort of a period piece, but no more so than the novel, play and film it's based on. I saw the film again recently and it's still a classic, and holds up brilliantly. The Drury lane production is just before my time, unfortunately. I have a vague feeling there was a low-key revival at the Union a few years back. I have no idea why I didn't go and see it, because I really love the score and I was always at the Union around that time. So that would be another show I never got to see and really should have done. (And, on a side note, what on earth has happened to the Union in recent times? It was losing its mojo pre-pandemic, and post-pandemic it's an absolute shadow of its former self). Sometimes shows just come along at the wrong time, particularly with limited runs. Equally, unlimited run shows can suddenly announce their closing dates and I find that I've no chance to get to them in time. Unlike some people on here, I'm not sadly in a position to go out more than about two or three evenings a month, so if I've already got lots booked then there can be things I really want to see that I just don't make it to! I imagine lots of people find themselves in that situation. |

I regret not seeing Hadestown when it was on, both times. Also I wish i saw the OAT Into The Woods in person rather than just on film, but it was before my time of even going to London for theatre, so.

It would be so hard to imagine anyone being as captivating as Chita. The simplicity and power of the way the title number was staged cannot be eclipsed.

Some of the big defining broadway shows, before my time; West Side Story, A Chorus Line etc.
The original London cast of Phantom would have been a treat! And to be in the Royal Albert Hall for the 25th must have been special.
Also retrospectively it would have been good to see Barnum with it's original London cast inc Crawford.
Thinking about more recent years, I've seen a lot of what I think I'd want to have seen if answering this question in 20 years time; OG Groundhog Day, Bat out of Hell, the gender swapped Company etc.
Preludes is one I wish I'd seen actually.

I would have loved to have seen Betty Blue Eyes, got into theatre a few years after its run.
Also City of Angels at the Garrick, I sadly think a reschedule is unlikely.
