OK just to be clear what happened was wrong in terms of communication
BUT given there is a huge queue of shows waiting
What’s next for the New London
I have my fingers crossed for What’s New Pussycat but think we may see a flying bed instead !

What's New Pussycat is a good shout, but it may take time for the production to be re-assembled.
Oklahoma! seems to be selling well at the Young Vic, could potentially transfer for an extended summer run (as could Legally Blonde).

A lot of Bedknobs relies on the traditiona set up for the magic to work, so i think the curve of the Gillian Lynne could be a challenge for it to successfully work

My money is on School of Rock making a return. It’s Andy’s theatre. Makes sense for one of his to go in there.

My money is on School of Rock making a return. It’s Andy’s theatre. Makes sense for one of his to go in there. The touring show is available from August and would fit in there seamlessly for a few months before the Starlight revival goes in. |

I'm not convinced School of Rock would sell that well considering it only closed 3 years ago plus it did a stop at Wimbledon.
LW Theatres aren't going to prioritise an ALW show just because he owns the theatre, they are a business at the end of the day and if they think Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Oklahoma! can bring the rent then they choose it over School of Rock.
Oklahoma! would require extensive reworking of the GL so it would be risky to transfer it from the Young Vic.

Depending on how successful it is at Regents Park, but Legally Blonde could be an option for an immediate transfer?

I do think people have to remember that you can't take a show from one setting like The Open Air and bung it into an indoor theatre. Even if Legally Blonde is a success, they're not going to transfer straight away.

Crazy For You transferred four weeks after finishing at the Open Air into the Novello, so its not unprecedented (theatre became available after early closure of Betty Blue Eyes). |

As I said in the Bedknobs thread, I don't know if logistically it would work in the Gillian Lynne but unless it was adapted for the space then it could potentially work. But with Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Frozen and The Lion King that's quite a lot of Disney in the West End this year.
I can imagine Hadestown, The Boy in the Dress or What's New Pussycat going in, but also the return of School of Rock or another ALW show wouldn't be surprising.
Also, not a musical, but the current UK tour of Animal Farm finishes soon. Maybe based on its reviews and popularity with schools that could go in for a limited run?

The only issue being a limited run beginning end of June is the worst possible time for school groups. Out for summer in July/August and then limited opportunity for school trips in the first term. It does look great though - maybe it wouldn't need the school groups market for a short run. |

Animal Farm wouldn't be a bad shout for a limited season, the Gillian Lynne has had plays in the past like War Horse and King Lear so it wouldn't be unusual. |
