Whist everyone is buzzing for Hamilton tonight, I am on my way to see Potter finally, after a year and a half. Must say, didn't think id be as excited as I am. Have managed to avoid all spoilers, I know literally nothing about the plot other than obviously what we know of the Potter story prior.

Credit where due, I expected that security line to be a nightmare, but got my tickets, through security and into the theatre in all of 15 minutes. And considering I was around near the other building 10 minutes ago, I'm impressed!

I really want to see this now (having had to cancel my booking for April due to workload) but it really drives me mad that you cant select your own seat and see whats available. Even the premium seats at £99.50 are in poor locations and I'm looking as far as Jan 2019!

Thanks, I never thought to just check last minute, unfortunately I cant go anytime before Christmas, however I checked for Saturday this week and there are some excellent premium seats available! so that's my plan now to check in Jan on a daily basis as I hope that some people will cancel last minute as they need to money following a costly Christmas...hehe

They've been reducing prices to £40 since the end of August now.

I ended up managing to get a £42.50 per part seat price for the Wednesday just gone two weeks before the show. It was supposed to be around £70 per part I believe, but if you do check the website regularly, they do appear. Rare, but they are there.

Yes, they quietly discount seats a day or so before the performance. I’ve grabbed £20 stall seats (row D) day of the show and they’ve been wonderful (and how I’ve managed to see it 8 times). is that when selecting seats for both parts together, or separately?

They do it for both. I've seen £40 stall seats for both parts and £20 stall seats if you choose to only see 1 part in great seats that would normally be £140 / £70. Currently £40 Dress Circle seats for Thursday / Friday this week up.

Thanks all for the advice, just procured two of the Friday Forty seats which must have been returned earlier today. £20 per part, for BB10 and 11. Happy Christmas to me!

Just spent £145 for this for 10th January, front row and centre 1 tier up. A long time coming but I've put if off for so long and the Christmas prosecco consumption has convinced me to finally go!

Finally seeing this this week! Just wondering how strict they are with taking bottled water into the theatre? Sorry, I know this must have been answered earlier in the thread but 94 pages is a lot to search through!

They did let people take it when I went but that was a year ago. Maybe someone else has been more recently. (Bottled water is very expensive inside the Theatre.)

If they're searching bags, but you've got a jacket pocket capable of holding a bottle of water.....

Thanks all, I was there yesterday. We were allowed bottled water but I did have to sacrifice a cereal bar, even though I’d been sneaky and put in my coat pocket, haha!

When I went with Peggs she took it as a challenge to sneak in as many snacks as possible! Water was not really a problem as they have free water in the bar....I had to ask the first time I went but I seem to remember it being there on return visit this year!

It depends which security person you go to, I was patted down for Part 1 but not Part 2, and it was the opposite for my friend.

I'll be visiting London from the U.S. in June for a short teaching stint, and I'm looking forward to seeing this. (I already have my tickets.) How is the current cast? People here are raving about the London cast that transferred to Broadway. Getting tickets to see them, however, is insanely difficult and expensive. I'm hoping that the replacement cast I'm going to see in London will be strong as well.
