Sorry if this has been asked already. (I had been avoiding this thread until I had seen the plays.)
Does anyone know if they will release an album of the music featured in the play? Some lovely moments I would like to listen to again.

Some lovely moments I would like to listen to again. Not sure but a large portion of it is taken/adapted from Heap's prior work. If you Google there are lists available. For example Cycle Song is the main theme, and Half Life is (I'm pretty sure) one of the touching moments with the staircases.

Nimax currently have £70 seats for tomorrow and some dates next week. Just booked for a friend to see it next Sunday, Row B stalls at that price!

Howdy, finally my Harry Potter time approaches...one question, how long before curtain should we aim to arrive? to account for tickets/security/using the facilities etc? is their 'one hour before' a good guide or can us more seasoned theatre folks stroll up a bit later?

My sister and I strolled in at about 5 minutes to 2, thinking the curtain was 2:30... We got downstairs and were surprised how quiet the bar was, and then heard the bell and rushed into the packed auditorium. So basically, turning up 5 minutes before is fine .

But thanks, my instinct was it wouldn't require quite such a level of early bird-ness!

But thanks, my instinct was it wouldn't require quite such a level of early bird-ness! I was surprised that people did actually arrive really early! Top tips...if you want merch there is a queue, nip in as soon as you are in the theatre and can look on line to see prices first! Ask the ushers for "keep the secret" badges on the way out of first part (they don't hand them out automatically any more but keep some in their pockets in case people ask and they are free!). If you want to go down the street to the exhibition/sale of Harry Potter film art (they hand out flyers to the queue) then well worth it but go straight after coming out of first part as it is very small tall building and building soon gets full...they form a queue outside and let people in a few at a time but if you zoom straight away you avoid this! Enjoy!

After almost a year of trying the Friday Forty I decided it was time to just give up and pay full price to see the original cast. Just managed to get a Grand Circle seat for the 10th of May - my wallet is wounded but I'm hoping it'll be worth it!

Usually when a show is filmed for archive purposes, they mean it is literally going into an archive. I won't rule out a DVD, but I'd be ENORMOUSLY surprised if one materialised within the next decade or two.

It'll also be filmed for archives on Broadway. Ultimatly as well the filming process/production values are very different for archive filming to commerical use. I wouldn't ever rule it out with this one, but in this case particuarly they aren't ready to dilute the desire for tickets just yet with a readily available DVD.

Many productions are recorded for archival purposes. If they were filming for release then there'd be cameras everywhere and they'd be doing it over several performances in order to avoid mistakes and incidental noise.

It genuinely would be for archival purposes! Especially since the original cast are leaving. They won't be releasing the stage version on DVD. So much of the magic and intimacy would be lost.

Ummmm, this is Harry Potter. They're not really known for not bleeding the franchise dry by doing anything and everything to make even more money from it.

True, but they haven't even opened on Broadway yet so I doubt they'll release any DVD anytime soon.

They'd sooner make a full blown movie than record the stage version.

I don't think it could be released on DVD or broadcast live due to Warner Bros owning the screen rights to Potter.

By 2025, there's a chance this will be a movie tho lol They have four more Fantastic Beasts to come out with the next one in 2018. My guess is they'll finish the FB franchise first, have a gap of say 4 or 5 years then do the Cursed Child films.

Yes, apparently it's 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024. So, maybe 2030 for Cursed? Also, will the main actors do these roles again? I know they don't have to use Daniel, Emma and Rupert, but would be perfect and they would be almost the same age as the characters.

I do like watching recorded live or broadcast live performances of shows and musicals at the Cinema, on DVD and Blu-Ray and on TV

Re the Friday Fourty...yes it's a lottery, but the software is queueing software, so in reality it's a queue. So if the little man doesn't move straight away, you're not gonna win. Well done d'James, I hope you enjoy it and can't wait to hear your thoughts
