"I can't wait for it to end," from one unenthused ice cream seller to another at Rosmersholm. The interval? The play?? The world??? I wonder which they meant, haha.

At the first preview of A German Life at the Bridge a man asked an usher if the script was available to buy. The usher said "not yet, tonight is an open rehearsal" and the man replied "for 90£ a seat? I hope not!".
Class.

The lady behind me at Admissions @ Richmond Theatre seemed to not think or care how far her voice carried. First clearly grumbling when I sat in front of her, I am quite tall to be fair, and then saying to her friend well you're all right as my Husband is much shorter.
Then when everyone went past she first had to question them to see whether they actually wanted to get past her, surely standing right next to her and saying excuse me was enough of a clue. Then she had a comment about most of them, one lady was described as not exactly light on her feet as apparently she couldn't skip over their bags quick enough, another who apologised and said she was in the middle she then said no she wasn't she could have gone in the other way. All this was said as they were still squeezing past her friend so I don't see how they couldn't have heard.

Overheard whilst queuing for the very small Gents in the Circle at Manchester Palace last night, little old lady walks past and says "ooh look at those men queuing, how funny!"

Tbf I always find it amusing when I see men queuing for the toilets. Me too esp because the amount of blokes who have walked past women in a loo queue and said "you don't get queues at the gents" or more annoying "you should go in the gents there is no queue there." They get pretty annoyed when you do though!!

Older woman to her slightly younger companion as we were leaving the theatre AFTER today's matinee of Toast: "It's come to me. Nigel Slater. He's a chef. He's been on television." 🙄

An old lady behind me as we were leaving after the matinee of Jesus Christ Superstar: "I'm absolutely traumatised after that Crucifixion."

The image is particularly striking and can imagine it being quite powerful for a Christian and could even be quite traumatic as it personifies the core iconography of their faith.

It was a very powerful image, I agree. She did sound as if she was joking though. I hope she wasn’t actually traumatised.

Reminds me of the time - forgive me if you’ve heard this one- when I was watching a particularly tedious Miracle Plays at the Old Pit at the Barbican back in the day when the RSC visited there. At the approach of the Crucifixion, I whispered a bit too loudly, “ thank goodness, nearly over’ to which a whisper just as loud came over my shoulder, ‘You’ve forgotten the Resurrection’ Apologies to all.

As Eva made her somewhat unconventional entrance at Regents Park today, a voice behind said "Oh! I think she's in it!".

'Kimberley Walsh is the worst thing to ever happen to the West End'.
Obviously this young lady has never had the misfortune of seeing Jason Donovan.

"9 to 5 was a film, didn't you know?" Her friend explained that. They were sharing a bag of pork scratchings at the interval. No joke.
