Cuba doesn't really excite me...though he will bring the punters in from the providences I really can't be bothered, so I'll leave it you BurlyBeaR. And I'm pretty sure we're from the provinces.

^Nothing wrong with that if it is to build stamina for the run, is there? If you need to build stamina for three numbers sure Let’s overlook the facts that he hasn’t got a musical credit to his name according to the bible that is wiki. I’m sure he’ll be fabulous though.

He won’t be bringing THIS punter in from the providences! The providences are North America, aren't they?

Anywhere further up is referenced as ‘the wilds’ and it is assumed that the punters there would only enjoy panto or Blood Brothers (as long as theres a Nolan involved!). 😂🙄

We also like Priscilla with an inadequate bus because we’re thankful for what we can get.

If you need to build stamina for three numbers sure Perhaps it's not so much building stamina as learning to sing the actual music as it is written. I remember one actor playing Billy Flynn who was so musically inadequate that the endings of all of his songs had been simplified. And he didn't even act the part particularly well either! Marti Pellow was my favourite Billy and he really knew how to sing that music.

I’m not sure why people assume that ‘Both Reached For the Gun’ is a tricky sing? Sure it’s a little bit physically demanding, but holding the note isn’t hard and neither of his other tunes are big sings. This is why any Tom, Dick & Harry has been cast before. What exists is the vacancy for someone to come along and do it really bloody well, with the right amount of sleaze with some light and shade too.

Two words: Jerry Springer. I actually liked Jerry Springer because of the subtext of his talk show and the role he was playing. Billy Zane and George Hamilton were a lot worse. I liked John Barrowman though he was quite camp as Billy.

That rules out pretty much every West End show then - usually at least some of the ensemble are making their debuts, and sometimes even some of the leads! Also you don't have to pay £125 if you don't want to...

Ahem. I've just booked, and snagged a second row ticket for £32.50. OK, to be fair, it's a Wednesday matinee, and special rate for seniors.

Come on, after years of this limping along in the West End, being stunt cast to hell and living off the back of the Oscar winning movie - this truly has lost its razzle dazzle. Sure Cuba 🇨🇺 wil shift tickets, but after that it will die like it did at the Garrick, they also have to pay for a new production and we know on Broadway shows cost up to $16m 💲💲💲👼🏽, the if you know Chicago then you will be very familiar with why this cost £16k t put on.

Aren’t they likely to just use the touring set?

Oh what wonderful casting! Cuba is a fine actor and whilst it does happen, it’s not that often you get an Oscar winning actor on the west end (particularly one that isn’t British). I may be wrong, but I think that this will also be the debut acting performance of a black Oscar winner on the west end. Wasn't Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act at a certain point?

I can't think of any others though

I'd love to see Jennifer Hudson give Mama Morton a go, especially considering she is in the UK at the moment anyway. Even if just for a limited run. But I doubt they would have the budget for two Oscar winners haha.

Lauren Bacall was in Sweet Bird of Youth at the (now) Harold Pinter theatre in 1985. Admittedly her Oscar was an Honorary Award.

Personally I am excited about the casting of Cuba Gooding Jnr.
First and foremost he is a dancer, then actor.
This casting is gonna get this Aussie arse on a seat.
